  • William Shatner's let himself go

  • This is some of the smartest comedy I have ever heard.

  • Mark Lamarr has really let himself go.

  • how did he age so much in like four years :S

  • Brian Cox has let himself go.

  • ballsy shit for an american audience, genius though

  • @ShaolinPete Not sure if troll, or unsure where Montreal is...

  • @ShaolinPete He's in Montreal. Probably more Canadians in the audience than Americans.

  • @ShaolinPete montreal is in canada.

  • KD Lang's let himself go

  • 17 people left inflatable aliens at Diana's home

  • DRAGONS

  • morrissey's letting himself go.

  • @NeonC0wboy Terry Christian's letting himself go.

  • America .... isn't that where the rappers came from? You know ... those rappers they have nowadays. You've seen them .... the rappers ......

  • @jimdaw65 Yeah...running around...jumping off escalators..and...doing?....doing that thing they do?

  • Awesome comedian. My 3rd favourite!

  • "But he died. Which is sad...But also" Crying with laughter. Stewart Lee is a genius

  • Comment removed

  • inspired as always. why don't our society and education system produce stewart lees?.....

  • @naughtyboymessiah Uhm.. I rather think they did. I'm watching him right now.

  • @megamarsvin sigh... i think you are intelligent enough to know what i meant despite the ommited key word.

  • Is this Terry Christian's twin brother??

  • @sirtinycreep He is his crumpled twin brother, yes. And yes, it is possible to uncrumple him.

  • Hold on. The clip shows him mocking americans for having no sense of geography... when clearly half of those submitting comments here sound like Brits who don't realise that Montreal is in Canada.

  • @ben4056 It's a crazy idiotic world we live in, isn't it?

  • @lotusjumps nope

  • @BlunderCats It is.

  • @ben4056 Citation needed.

  • 14 people only just found out that inflatable ET dolls are a bad way to mourn the dead

  • He really dumbed down his comedy... and it just isn't all that funny here.

  • I don't know you they are, or why they clicked dislike, but 14 people are retarded

  • his weight is inversely correlated with how funny he is

  • @nattytk You mean inversely proportional.

  • I find Stewart Lee gets funnier as he gets older

  • haha! suck it America!

  • I find myself laughing at the parts, I assume, are not meant to be 'funny'.

For some reason a comic talking about Laika burning up in the ozone upon reentry and dieing ...(during a show designed to give people their paid for jollies)...is riotously funny. It's just inappropriate and dark... and I love it. Thanks whateveryourname is. Stewie!

  • @InfiniteArguments Your so right, Ive seen him live a couple of times live and I just sit there and laugh constantly - its always so absurd what you witness.

  • Everything is about America. Never forget that.

Every single negative thing in the world...from bad breath to flat tires was invented in and exported BY FORCE from the United States of America. Please, never, never, never let anyone forget. Thank you.

  • search the angry lesbian song funny shit for those of us with an ex..

  • The man speaks the truth, It's his delivery thats funny

  • ooh that first joke bombed, in fact none of this is funny - why aren't you watching Bill Hicks

  • ooh that first joke bombed

  • @Thompy69 No it didn't. It was a funny joke.

  • "We don't wanna be the only people that don't put one there!"

    Love it!

  • The biggest balls in comedy

  • My mom was from Ireland, and my dad was from...Jamaica. So when I see a ... plantain, I don't know whether to eat it or SHOVE IT UP MY ASS

  • There are few times when you can definatively say that humour is wasted on some people. It seems that this is one of those times.

  • @somasofar evyone has their own perception of humor. that would be the exact reason for what your saying.

  • Discussion involves a conversation between you and another, is he not making comments ,may,be im wrong , ignorant me .

  • Outstanding

  • He reminds me so much of Morrissey here. The hair, the attempted Mancunian slant on his accent, the jaw movements... not that that is a bad thing at all though.

  • @legend145 born in manchester...

  • @alexhamster1134 and your nan

  • such a funny, smug bastard.

  • Looks so young!

  • you mean thin

  • Love him (with or without Herring), but there is one little boo-boo. If he was working on the west coast that would be British Columbia, especially if there are Haidas there. Shouldn't complain - at least he came here. What he said about Montreal was spot on (my home town, so I can agree!)

Hey, somebody mentioned Lee Evans - I saw him back when he was just starting on the London cabaret circuit and putting rubber bands all over his face. I had no doubt he would do well.

  • Brilliant

  • Hahaha! Fucking awesome!!!!

  • i hate HATE when audiences feel the need to applaud EVERY sentence of a comedians routine...im pretty sure its an american obsession that has somehow worked its way acroos the world cos now in live at the apollo on bbc they are doing it..please fucking stop doinf it....applaud at the end, laugh when its funny

  • Well this video was recorded in Montreal...

  • @IHaveTheQi yes I can read the title......so what is your point?

  • Well you're complaining about things British audiences do, based on a video recorded in Montreal

  • @IHaveTheQi no they are clapping every second on this clip aswell that is what im complaining about as they seem to do it on every live comedy show i see.its probably stupid people like you who do it

  • Yes, but as I keep pointing out to you that this video WAS FILMED IN FUCKING CANADA, and is therefore not a good way of judging WHAT A BRITISH AUDIENCE WOULD DO

  • @IHaveTheQi NO YOU ARE STUPID!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE DOING IT IN THIS CLIP....YES....THEY DIDNT USED TO DO IT IN BRITAIN ....BUT THEY DO NOW ON CERTAIN SHOWS....THATS WHAT PISSES ME OFF....IT COMES FROM AMERICA.....DO YOU HAVE SOME KIND OF MENTAL DISORDER.....READ MY FIRST COMMENT AGAIN BUT DONT BOTHER REPLYING I CANT BE BOTHERED ARGUING WITH RETARDS.....EVERYONE ELSE UNDERSTOOD WHAT I WAS SAYING AS IT GOT A FEW THUMBS UP IN A WEEK...........................GOOD BYE

  • @robswift008 It's like when Diana died, everyone applauded here on her procession as she passed. That isn't a British thing to do, it is decidedly French. The whole fake mourning thing that people got swept away on was American. Shock horror, she wasn't a particularly important, or nice person. I wonder how much money was made from her death, it's all so depressing.

  • @jacksawild yeah i had an argument with a friend about that....random people crying their eyes out over diana fair enough she was a nice lady but you dont cry over someone youve never known, not having a go at americans but they are really over the top in a lot of things....cant stand the american tv shows like wifeswap and the apprentice (which i love the english versions of) that have constantly over dramatic music in the background....maybe the american tv executives are to blame?

  • @robswift008 Politicians don't control T.V in America, but politicians are controlled by their donors who happen to own the major t.v networks. We have it pretty good here, we have some state controlled t.v but it has to be impartial or we wouldn't accept it. This is the reason why a large portion of Americans think that dictators and tyrants are left wing liberals. I mean, that sentence doesn't even make sense. It's about keeping the poor controlled by keeping them stupid. Sad.

  • @IHaveTheQi actually if you read his comment he does not make a single blind assumption as to the clapping of Brits. He says it is an American thing. Canada is part of the Americas. He then goes on to say it has spread across the world. He then uses the evidence of a TV show IN BRITAIN which clearly shows he is not blindly guessing but speaking from exprience. You are the one who seems to make assumptions based on... well based on your own stupidity.

  • @philipmcjim thankyou sir....glad to know all youtube users arn't ignorant fuckwads

  • @robswift008 haha youre blaming americans for a Canadian audience applauding stewart lees jokes? go jump off a cliff

  • @CBilly91 another short sighted person with ZERO argument....you see my comment has the most thumbs up.are you aware of that....read my comment again then clap ok bye

  • @robswift008 i have ZERO argument? i believe you blamed americans for something that other countries were doing that pissed you off. haha real solid reasoning there chief, or lack of? huh

  • @CBilly91 go and kill yourself

  • @robswift008 haha ok swift rob, im gonna go kill myself because you think that americans cause everyone to laugh and applaud after every sentence stewart lee says

  • @CBilly91 thanks that would be great cant have you affecting the gene pool america already has enough retards

  • @robswift008 looks like you should take a refreshing dip in the gene pool as well

  • @robswift008 True and dont underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups

  • @robswift008 I'm not sure whether it is indeed an American obsession which has somehow affected the way in which global audiences display their pleasure and enjoyment of comedic acts; but laying the blame squarely at the feet of the Americans seems inevitably just: They are, after all, the worst type of people.

  • @poiutrew Correct. Americans are generally loathsome, overweight and morally absent. As long as they get their McDonald's they don't care whose child is shot in the face. There's the odd good American, but they largely don't live in America.

  • @feckingbillgates why do you think that and whats so great about you? before you start im english

  • @BlunderCats Oh don't start that.

  • @feckingbillgates well be fair why do you think that? its a pretty stupid thing to say and you do sound pretty arrogant saying it

  • @BlunderCats Because it's tremendously fun to bait idiots like you into responding. Now fuck off.

  • @feckingbillgates nah youre just pathetic. americans do have a bad image so its easy to make yourself feel superior to that. whats worse is you cant even stand behind the shit you talk, just act like a child

  • @BlunderCats Haha, you don't get it. Never mind. I'm bored with this now anyway, and I've already said fuck off once.

  • @feckingbillgates biting. what are you going to do now? listen to the cure and bitch about how rebecca black's friday just shows that music is dead? theres nothing to get, you just regurgitate things youve heard. the only difference between you and the stereotype american youre referring to is that you delude yourself into thinking that youre some holden caulfield type intellectual

  • @BlunderCats you are awesome, comments like his make me hate this country (England). I can't STAND small island mentality. Good job!

  • @FreckletonBoy hows that small island mentality?

  • @FreckletonBoy if you mean small mindedness i think youve misunderstood, i was going against small mindedness and clichéd stereotypes

  • @feckingbillgates didnt think youd have anything to say to that you entitled snobby cunt

  • @robswift008 these guys canadian, not american, but i agree so fucking much dude.

  • @robswift008 absolutely, i was watching this thinking...what's wrong here? is he off? is it the jokes? no its the bloody crowd who dont seem to know that this show is not about them

  • Thanks for posting this, the way he says 'for the gates of her home' kills me.

  • i think he looks a bit like morrissey

    such a good comic

  • he calls himself a crumpled morrisey

  • 41st greatest comedian?

    Try top 10.

  • @samsonlovesyou 41st

  • @samsonlovesyou You'll be happy to know he's 12th now.

  • @samsonlovesyou Try number 1 and you will be closer yea because like he is closer to number 4 maby 3 SO like yea get it ok. o my god like im not even go in 2 respond to this

  • I never knew Morrissey was so damn funny ...

  • No offense but Seb needs to put down the Little Brittain dvds and listen to a real comedian

  • No offense but Seb needs to put down the Little Britain dvds and enter the world of Cadbury's delightful confectionery.

  • He was very attractive in his day

  • My friend Sebastian says that Lee's slow build up, predicatability and repitition are "neo-Brechtian techniques" whatever the fuck that means. Seb goes to University. I just like shit that makes me laugh.

  • you do realise that he's doing this to satirise and make fun of the whole idea of jokes, right? do you not understand that the predicatbility of the punchlines, the excessive repetition, the slow buildups etc are what makes him funny?

fuck off and go buy a Lee Evans DVD or something

  • theres nothing much to understand really, it either makes you laugh or it doesn't

  • irony and satire

  • brilliant

  • His delivery on that Princess Diana bit got better in the 2007 rework

  • he also along with herring wrote alot of early material for alan partridge on the radio show on the hour poo art wee is the best!

  • You can tell how his material and delivery changes to cater for north american audiences

  • And are u saying that's a bad thing? At least he knows what he's talking about.

  • lyka was acctually killed on purpose, it was protected they just opened the hatch to see how long it would take to die lol

  • a hero, a genuine hero

  • going for the morrisey look there!

  • A crumpled Morrisey is arguably better than a squashed Albert Finney

  • Ha, very good.

    Loved that one. :)

  • "Wasn't John Denver one of the first Existentialists?"

John Denver was not one of the first Existentialists. That would be Nietzsche and Kierkegaard in the late 19th and early 20th century, along with others including Sartre. Denver was a folk musician in the 60s -90s.

  • Im guessing Rene Descartés was the first existentialist :)

  • I love him, watched the reworked 2005 Diana bit yesterday and everything hurt because I laughed so hard. Never saw a stand-up act like his and this pace adds so much to it.

  • i do like stewart lee but sometimes and this is one of them ,I really do wish he would speed up a little & get on with it...funny guy still.

  • Stewart Lee is possibly my favourite comic of all time in terms of sheer enjoyment.

Although he might not have the laugh-for-laugh pace of others its nice to see stand-up that is intelligent and edgy without being gross-out or 'ironically' bigoted. He also unlike many veteran comics sadly, get's only better with age. He puts off gag speed for sheer comic timing.

I'm waiting in anticipation for "41st Best Stand-Up comedian to arrive at my door.

  • yeah he is brilliant

  • Yeah?

  • yeah!

  • You said it!

  • He's a pro, one of the best comedians on the circuit.

I always looked forward to seeing Stewart Lee at Edinburgh, along with the late Ken Campbell he was one of the real treats of the fringe.

  • Speaking as someone that has since a young age been perfectly capable of enjoying Friends and Stewart Lee in tandem without fainting from cognitive-dissonance, I can't help but to wonder what Stewart himself would make of the self-aggrandising coffee-table elitists parading their appreciation of his work as a pseudo-intellectual validation of their snobbish, bigoted, egregiously sophomoric, inexorably subjective and invariably half-witted opinions.

Perhaps I'll watch his next DVD and find out.

  • Umm hmm, or you could just save yourself 11.99 and take a closer look at adjective-ridden horseshit you have produced here

  • So, what you're saying is that he agrees with me? Ta for the heads-up.

  • Regarding perhaps the more obvious interpretational slant, I believe he might. But then again, I feel somewhat underqualified in making judgements regarding the intellectual capacities of people I've never met.

Such an insight would require the skills of a meta-subjective social commentator who is able to isolate the essential qualities of people with infallible observations and unnecessarily superfluous prose.

  • this whole thread sounds like stuart lee talking to himself, and is another wonderful example of how the threads provided by the avid viewers of this fair site can produce subsequent and unexpected results to the overall personal enjoyment of the origional material on dispaly herein. I salute you both for your ingenious grasp of our wonderful language and its futher aplication towards the comedy ejoyment already provided by the subject in question.

  • Makes a change from

"No you're a faggot", "waste of my 9 minutes".

  • 9 minutes and 38 seconds

  • yes it is. nice observation.

  • Everyone should have a thesaurus.

  • + 1 prof

  • wonderful funny very laidf back the taxi driver arguement just cracks me.

  • LOL E.T.!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love him!!

  • LOL this is brilliant - and new to me! love it!

  • I love Stewart Lee. But I have noticed that in this video he looks about 18 and then 9 or 10 years later he looks like a droll, chubby funster.

  • The way he's put on weight is exactly like Morrissey and he's a big fan of Morrissey.

  • he got called a crumpled morrissey in a review once and get a few line out of that too

  • and a squashed albert finney

  • he had a severe stomach condition that put him in hospital and i think he got stressed out by the Jerry Springer the Opera as well but he got a good endoscopy routine out of it

  • And I said to him "there is a problem with that sentence, isn't there, Doctor? Which is that if the phrase 'you are a famous comedian' is preceded by the qualifying phrase 'I see from your notes,' then I'm not, am I? :D

  • haha chubby funster

  • Lol. classic- The Diana E.T joke is one of the funniest ever, although he does re-use that one a lot.

  • I would

  • I wonder what would have happened if he'd done the Diana stuff the next day in England...? Cold...hollow...silence...

  • I doubt that Stewart Lee's predominantly left wing, cynical and largely socialist audiences would've been particularly offended to be honest.

  • @ashton1015: how come right wing, cynical and largely fascist audiences have no sense of humor? (Laughing at Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Larry the Cable Guy is further proof of this lack of a sense of humor.)

  • I'm an American, and a comedian, and was told about Steward a week ago.

That's way too late for my taste.

    Stewart Lee is fan-f*ckin'-tastic.

  • if you want cock, tits, arse and poo jokes go and watch 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps or other such fucking shite

  • if people feel the need to make comments about how they dont like this they are not worth listening to or talking to

  • The type of people who hate stewart lee are the ones who find Friends funny and only understand non-subtle comedy where the jokes are obvious, and everything is over emphasised. Irony is just wasted on some people....

  • I completely agree with you. But please look up the word irony.

  • curseabbie

    going by your comments

your views are similar to what an american t shirt seller may say

  • yup

  • it's a dry kind of humor, it's SUPPOSED to 'make you think', i'd much rather watch this then some brain dead comedian talking about pussy-because i just don't find that funny, if it works for you then fine, leave me dylan moran and stewart lee.

  • Dont get me wrong i love Stewart lee but this just isnt him at his best, his style seems much more devloped now. Well at least live i guess. Do you work in oil?

  • yeah, his more recent stuff is excellent, here he looks a little bit out to bait the crowd.

  • I agree but hes still funny in this. Cant wait for "41st Best Comedian" to come out on DVD at the end of July. Saw the show live 3 times and he just gets funnier each time.

  • Genius! If everybody found this funny the world would be a much better place. Long live Stewart Lee
