ANOTHER LIFE: The horns really give this song that human funk touch, very classy, and were recorded very well. The intro or main bars of this gem remind me just a bit of Frank Zappa. Especially love the middle section where Todd plays a slow tremelo bar and echo three note sci-fi like melody in unison with keyboards. Us true Toddlers are familiar with how cleverly mixed guitar / keyboards were, often becoming "one" instrument. Today, one keyboard = 3. HOWEVER, 3 stellar keyboardists is Utopia.
Todd admits, in an interview I saw a few years back that LSD, when taken in MODERATION, is a tool for inspiration beyond earthly limitations. I've taken my share of drugs and in a live setting where you might not be feeling so great that night, digs down to the core of your musical soul and spirit, uses the brain's intellect and together they make magic. We'll likely never know if Todd was UTI recording Another Live but I listened to it with friends, all of us tripping, lava lamps, etc. HEAVEN!
INTRO / MISTER TRISCUITS - Jimi Hendrix would be (or maybe he was!) proud of not just the sonic interplay between Moogy (?) and Todd's "call and response" psychedelic flight into a Nebula (my vision) but Todd's use of what I believe was an EchoPlex Tape machine and his Fender Mustang's tremelo which he used a lot on AL. Todd's guitar tone is beautiful, menacing and restrained;a guitarist myself I can hear the rolling back of the guitar's treble tone knob. Its an ethereal, elusive tone. YES!!
I have to disagree. This album was recorded live on Aug. 25, 1975 at the Wollman Rink in NYC's Central Park. I was there. Take a look at the NYC skyline on the cover.
Saw this concert tour live in Cleveland Oh in 1976 was the bomb. My cousin and I went both nights. We really enjoyed the show. This was something that will never happen again when you go see an artist perform every song you like(ok some he did not perform) but we got 3 encores. That doesn't happen today I miss the 70"s and those concerts they were the bomb. Light a lighter LOL !!!

This album was recorded at the Cape Cod Coliseum on Aug. 23, 1975. The warm up band (Orchestra Luna) didn't even get to play their set. Todd took their set to warm up and then took a break, came out and recorded this GEM of an album. I worked security for the show...best concert of my life!!

I'm guessing that's Roger on the horn in addition to his keyboard duties...

I think some of this was recorded Nelson's Ledges in Ohio to be honest, with some songs being from New York..
