How do all MAC staff worship that BLACK wardrobe is a conundrum?! Used to work for MAC n' I have a phobia of the colour. However, MAC is constantly one of the favs in all fashion events.

J'adore Luc! I practiced and practiced this eye, which is more of a concept than a how to, but the first time I went out in this eye make up I happened to need a stop at MAC (errands day) and it's the first time I ever got air kissed by The Queen of Queens- and got good service. Of course wearing a lot of black leather helps around there, LOL, but the point is this looks good! So much better than that black eye/ Russian Red business some people call smoky.

There's a reason they don't give a laudry list of color, duh! People look good in different ones. Your neutral is the color that turns me green. My go to one color eye is your nightmare. Get it? Ever swatch the five colors that look exactly the same to find each has a completely different structure and undertone? A version for everyone. You gotta walk your own path and find your own colors...

He is using satin taupe all over the lid and smut on the outer corner and crease. And he is using woodwinked on the inner corner and using teddy eye kohl to line the eyes. If you go to the mac website they have these videos and they list the product below the video.

I'm an NC45 so to get the same kind of look I had to use the Constructivist paint pot and Mulch eye shadow and either the Costa Riche or Teddy eye khol pencil.

This looks great when it's done by professional make up artists on beautiful models... but I've tried applying eye makeup at home and I always look like I've been punched in my eye. I have super curly lashes, so putting on mascara & liner is a chore... deep set eyes w/ dark cirlcles... so the smoky look isn't for me. I just Apply 1 neutral color on my entire lid after putting on my concealer, then I'm done. Wish I could do more.

I wish I had deep set eyes! They should be amazing to work with, cuz the crease is so defined. Have you tried applying eyeliner on your lid, to round off the whole smoky look? Then gently smudging the eyeliner, and blending it with a shadow for that intense look. I find that if you apply liner with a smoky eye, or say, a purple-y look, it looks less like u've been punched in the eye, due to the obvious & intentional liner that's present. Line the waterline too - u probably knew that already :)

I've tried kohl (black) and MAC's Chestnut eye pecil. The Chestnut makes my eye color look so much more intense. Heck, it's almost excactly my eye color lol. I've noticed that the pencil liner is better for me; my eyelashes actually curl back twice. Think baby doll lashes. They're not long b/c they are so curly. My complexion is honey almond/golden bronze; will the purple work on my complexion?

I have really curly short eyelashes so i can somewhat relate. it is definately a pain applying liner--especially liquid liner towards the outer corners of my eyes. i've found that shifting my eye while closed allows different ranges of access to solve this problem. that probably makes no sense but it does in my head... lol ^^

I love Romero. He's so sweet and cute. Romero's in the other eye liner vid. I remember always seeing him in one of the downtown Manhattan MAC's. He was always consistently perky and happy to help, but very genuine about it which was sort of endearing.
