@WSenator1 YEP..Bea was Blanche from the beginning of the show, ALTHOUGH the actor who played her husband, Harry Morton was changed at least 3 times in the series run. One of the changes was a "salary dispute"...I'm GLAD that Bea stayed around. I wish I could have met her. She seems so genuinely sweet!
Just a love nest, cozy and warm, like a dove rest, down on a farm; a veranda with some sort of clinging vine, and a kitchen where the rambler roses climb; next a small room, tea set of blue, best of all room, dream room for two. Better than a palace with a gilded dome, just a love nest, we can call home! 1921
EIGHT seasons, 'ray'- George ended the series after Gracie insisted on retiring in early 1958. He tried to continue the show in a slightly different format, keeping the cast intact (EXCEPT for Gracie), as "THE GEORGE BURNS SHOW" for NBC in the fall of 1958, but it lasted 26 episodes, ending in April 1959 [even George knew the series couldn't work without Gracie]. Paul Henning was on the show's writing staff until 1952. George later became his production partner on "THE BOB CUMMINGS SHOW".
This must be the first episode... it's so old that George hadn't yet learned that in television you talk to the camera and not the studio audience.

George Burns (not his real name) was nabbed trying to smuggle jewels into Israel.

I read somewhere that before the show was being recorded and stored, George Burns did an entire show with his fly open XD
