I'll add my video "Sakura trees in-between Iidabashi and Ichigaya" as a video response because, as i mention in it, it was inspired by one of your walking video in that area~
I walked past the Tokyo University (in March, two years ago) and I somehow got the feeling that only students were allowed on campus. A guy in uniform was standing at the main entrance and some students showed him a paper. I could be wrong though, maybe he was just there to help... :)
Hey man, thanks for the vid and the fantastic response. I've been here 12 years and could do a micro vid on hundreds of small pockets of Tokyo - which is probably why the whole thing always seemed too daunting to do. But you know, this vid is exactly why this is so great. I don't know Hongo sanchome at all (it has a firehouse burger and Todai is all I know) and didn't think much of Nippori other than as a norikae to my old place in Kashiwa. So now I have a bunch of new info. Great vid, thanks!
Hey Phil great idea!!! Im going to have to look through my stuff and see what I have to offer. Although my Imovie just crapped out today... Dunno whats the deal but I just bought iLife upgrade so we'll see if that helps. Anyways I favorite this video and will try and get out my response asap!!! Enjoy Tokyo!!!
Oh, you make me wanna go back to Tokyo. I loved the area around Ueno, but I never went to Takadanobaba. I've got to check out that place. I'm Swedish and all. :)
as always such awesome videos, I went to Japan once and my tour guide took us all around ^_^ I had this really great drink with callipso I think it was? Sugoiiii. The old school place we went to was Kamakura, like a seaside town and we stayed in a traditional japanese style hotel <3 really nice
I do alot of walking so this something I would love walking though. Ueno definitely stopping by. Now that you bring up travel guides oh im sorry Hikoguide I was thinking I know alot about the Metal Bars and still finding more thanks to friends I will have to make a video on it. Oh yeah you might get a kick out of this apparently there is a ramen Metal stand and the guy that runs it is part of a KISS cover band.
@3greviews Yeah - Waseda is actually at Waseda station, but it's right around the corner from Takadanobaba, and all the Waseda students come to Baba to hang out.
Azabu Jyuban is a good place to live if you're a rich expat -- a lot of that area is made for expats in financial firms or embassy workers and such. There are some good restaurants and lots of interesting spots. I actually heard Juban has now one of the highest concentrations of yakuza...don't know if it's true or not though.
@ToLokyo Woot. I was right. My tokyo knowledge hasn't gone away!
I like Juban because of the shoutengai. I'm not sure about the yakuza though; it doesn't really give off that sort of vibe. I hope it hasn't changed!!
Did you die

Takadanobaba. Just outside the station in the McD's corner opposite from Big Box.
That's my fav spot in tkdnbb so far. There's always someone playing music there.

I love azabu jyuban + roppongi hills.
I love the atmosphere, and the shops are diverse.
The food is amazing, and roppongi hills has some awesome architecture.
It also shows off the modern aspects of Japan.
Meiji Jingu was pretty awesome too; it's pretty simple and not much to do, but I love the trees and the temple was awesome!
Kamakura is very beautiful, but I guess it's outside of tokyo.
Is takatanobaba near waseda university?
I miss Japan; I wish I can go there soon again :)

@louisfcorea I can give you some Korea tips if you'd like.
Watch out when drinking lemon soju....tastes like lemonade - hits like vodka. ;)
Where will you go in Korea?

Yo, why don't you know that place? Seriously.
Thanks, though, I'm headed to Tokyo this summer for a few months, and I'll definitely check some of these places out when I get the chance.
