Dondzilla did some really good games for the vectrex. My personal favorite is the targ clone, one of the best games for the vectrex. The name won't come to me though. I am pretty sure I have all of his games. Protector and YASI are great too, protector is probably the best done (but not necessarily the best game) on the vectrex, blows away the commercial stuff from the 80's.
Heh, yeah, there's the 'Vectris' homebrew on the All Good Things compilation, it came out in like '96 or something. I just didn't have it at the time I made this slideshow. I'll have it on my next one though!
Yeah, that was an unfinished demo; the game doesn't end or have any sound, all you can do is jump around and shoot at each other. Still ok to play occasionally though.
I'm surprised you would be interested in this! My first one! Still need to redo it with actual video, but once I finally got a Vectrex emulator, it doesn't do that! :(
You might want to look into getting a video converter. I'd personally recommend Virtual Dub or Riva Encoder. That way, you could convert your QuickTime files to something that Windows Movie Maker can use.
Nice film, though! The only one of those games I have in my collection is Protector/YASI.
Thanks for the info, I'll have to check those programs out at some point.
Thanks for the complement too, I'd recommend all of these games, along with Space Frenzy, All Good Things and I, Cyborg (three games I've gotten since I made this :) )
Wait, wait... I think you're gonna need a video converter that specifically handles MOV files, and I just found out that Virtual Dub doesn't support them. Type "MOV to AVI" in Google, then click the first entry that appears. You'll find software in the link that's specifically designed to convert QuickTime files to AVI files.
I wanted one of those soooo bad as a youngster! Thanks for the memories as I always wanted to play one of those raster scan games! BTW, who's that playing? The Great Kat?
i own one of them. 1:23. nice video!

Thanks, still need to redo this one, but no video camera yet. Along with making others, as I've gotten many more games since!

Good point with your last sentence :)
Yeah, I liked Trakkers a lot too. Dondzila's done a lot for the old girl, that's for sure!

What no Tetris? Even Intellivision had a Home Brew Tetris Clone so if that system had a Tetris when is Vectrex going to have a Tetris?

I thought you did a great job! And, a powerful message as well.:)
Hope you're ok! Take care.

Hmmm, guess you're right about the "powerful message", about supporting these homebrewers, unless you meant something else that I've missed :P
And you should have a pm! Thanks for commenting!

Nice to see some screenshots of Vectrex games. I only recently heard of the machine after watching a ScrewAttack Europe video.

Yeah, especially since the Vec has an excellent homebrew scene, I thought I'd *especially* concentrate on that ;)
Still need to redo this vid with moving footage though! Heh...
