yes betta prefer small spaces with 1 or 2 live plants typically anything over 1 gallon and a half is to much and he will probably die, mine is in a gallon but with some live plants and he is very happy :D

While they are able to adapt to them better than other fish since they naturally live in shallow water, for almost any fish, bigger is better. One gallon is really the minimum for a single betta. A filtered tank with plants is the best set up you could have for one.

And FYI: Feeding Piranha live animals is dangerous to your piranha, they could carry diseases that may damage your beautiful fish :)

Stick to freeze dried food and flakes for a healthy fish, feeding them tetra's and other feeder fish every once ina while as a treat :)
