is this in a different key from the original, or did they just use a slightly different arrangement? brooke has a wonderful voice; it's very soothing, it doesn't pack a lot of punch and isn't really a "power voice" and I haven't heard her hit a lot of high notes much but it's very nice. good to see an early performance from her; this was 8 years pre-idol!

whitney houston is my favorite singer...however, as a singer myself, and music major, belting does NOT constitute singing...and people forget about beautiful melodies and just POWER through the whole song with no emotion and so many runs...what do others think? oversinging and power belts everywhere are just melissma! unlike old gospel singers, whitney houston, carol king, this girl right here, they can sing melodies WITHOUT over doing a song...peace and love

The thing is, Brooke doesn't have that kind of range. Her voice is very pleasant and unique, but she can't really "belt out" notes. If she were to try, she'd end up souding like Stevie Nicks does - really scratchy and out of control. Not that that's a BAD thing, but without loads of practice she'd probably sound like a dying chicken. Anyway, Brooke does what she's comfortable with and that's perfectly fine with me and many of her other fans. And I've never been a Whitney Houston fan anyways.
