  • I love these videos...how do you do the raw edges?? Do you just leave them like that or use pinking shears zigzag ??

  • @irikel You can use pinking shears or a zig zag stitch close the edges of the seam allowance to keep it from fraying.... or for pajama pants like this you can even leave it like that if you want but when it get swashed the inside seams will fray.

  • You are an awesome instructor! Thank you so much :D

  • @shimpals No problem. Thank you. :o)

  • @TheCraftyGemini Thank you so much!!! I went to my first class and made a pillow case. My second class there was a misunderstanding and the teacher didn't show. The third class I had to reschedule. I brought additionl fabric and pattern (5271) while there(14 pieces, I KNOW NOW BIG MISTAKE). This will help me so much. I've sewn a childs pj(by myself with the pattern) I cant figure out how to sew an or cut out the pattern without ruining the other sizes. I cut the small but what if I want to use M

  • @kokienga One way of doing it is before you cut the pattern to trace only the size you want by laying tracing paper over the pattern and slowly tracing the lines with a pencil, etc.

  • Girl! I have been TERRIFIED of patterns...I have bought several throughout the years...but have always been too scared to try them out. These three videos have taught me SO MUCH! THANK YOU!!!!

  • @LetiLaFlaca Yay! Go, Leti! Let me know how your first pattern turns out! :o)

  • Oh my goodness, those look so comfy

  • @srode1977 They are! These are my new baggy house pants. :o)

  • @Vanessa, ah of course! Thank you so much. LOVE what you're doing with these vids, I'll keep sharing with friends! Thank you again!

  • @mayagayam Thank you! :o)

  • next a handbag tut

  • @neddie58 I'll add your suggestion to my list of videos to do. Thanks. :o)

  • Thanks so much! I have a diffcult time understanding how to use patterns . This tutorial was very helpful.

  • @gab225 Glad to help! :o)

  • When do I include the ribbon or twill tape? Would I put that through at the same time I put the elastic through? Maybe someone already asked, I'll take a look through the other comments. Thank you for your great, quick and straightforward (never boring!!) videos!

  • @mayagayam The tie on the front is an optional finishing touch you can add or leave out. The pattern has you adding it at the end by hand with needle and thread. It doesn't actually go through the casing. It is just for decoration and is sewn down to the front seam casing and then tied in a bow. Hope that helps.

  • Awesome job! You got so much great information in this video :) BTW I love seeing you sewing while carrying your baby around!

  • @aglanceatmyworld Thanks, Whitney! Haha... so do I! It's the best way to get my work done and stay hands free. :o)

  • Your tutorial is one of the best I have seen! I work in a fabric store so I will definitely recommend this tutorial series to my customers. You have such clear instruction and give us every detail we need. Keep those videos coming! I love all of them. :)

  • @illustriousstardust Awww. Thank you! You're too sweet. I appreciate you spreading the word about my tutorials. :o)

  • were you holding your baby while sewing? with a sling?

  • @lyddknitgurl67 Yea! It's a long wrap.... kinda like a sling but a different way to wear the baby. :o)

  • looking for 5/8 or 15, what if machine has no numbers how do we figure 5/8ths?

  • @dofdestiny10 One way to figure it out is to get an index card/paper and mark 5/8" from one edge of it (measure with a ruler) with a dot. Then slip that piece of paper under your machine's foot with the needle up and then lower the needle so its going through the dot you made. Now, wherever the edge of the paper is you want to run a piece of painter's tape signifying the 5/8" distance from the needle. You can then use the edge of the tape as your guide. Hope that helps.

  • ur a very good teacher. i know u have requests for quilting but don't forget us that want to sew clothes, lol!

  • @gospelevans haha... I gotta try to even out all my tutorials. :oP

  • I learned my lesson. Don't get ahead of the teacher!!! I am going to review parts 2 and 3 and then finish up. I can't wait to do this in fleese. So I will be snug un the winter time.

  • @sassylassy01 Sounds great! I've made myself a pair in fleece... soooooo comfy & warm!

  • Excellant video and so easy to follow. I don't sew, but tried a few things and with this video, I see where I made my mistakes.
