Actually it's Orgy that sounds like Deadsy. Deadsy came first (Jay Gordon played a little bass for Deadsy in the early days, plus Jay kinda uses Elijah's style for singing).
Not to make YOU feel bad personally. (unless you were the tech) but I have been at TONS of concerts. I have never quite heard the arrangement LIKE THIS. So bad I was afraid to buy the CD. But was amazed how great their newest CD is.
I enjoy the sound, and the attempt at a new take on it. But the performance is all over the place. The timing is off. The drummer speeds up, slows down, and just flat out fucks up before the first chorus. I don't see how anyone didn't notice.
And to say the first version lacks sound just isn't accurate. The sound is very full.
The meter is just all fucked up. The drummer sounds like he's trying his best to get through it.

As a fan of Rush, I have to say this is quite the interesting take on Tom Sawyer, it's not unpleasant to the ear because the fundamental sound remains the same. I kind of like this guys voice, he's no Geddy, but I still enjoy the weird monotone sound it has.

Wow, this cover song SUCKS! If you think this band is rocking out, then you really should checkout RUSH! The original band who wrote this song "Tom Sawyer" is RUSH, from their Moving Pictures album (1980). Deadsy was probable still in their dad's nut sack when this song came out. I hope the band members of RUSH never come across this cover song that Deadsy did what a joke.

They basically made the guitars simpler and more hardcore, the vocals down and gritty and the synth doing more...
Not really that bad considering how it could have been butchered, and the synth guy doing those arpeggios because of the arrangement was a nice idea.

Actually it's Orgy that sounds like Deadsy. Deadsy came first (Jay Gordon played a little bass for Deadsy in the early days, plus Jay kinda uses Elijah's style for singing).

Not to make YOU feel bad personally. (unless you were the tech) but I have been at TONS of concerts. I have never quite heard the arrangement LIKE THIS. So bad I was afraid to buy the CD. But was amazed how great their newest CD is.

I enjoy the sound, and the attempt at a new take on it. But the performance is all over the place. The timing is off. The drummer speeds up, slows down, and just flat out fucks up before the first chorus. I don't see how anyone didn't notice.
And to say the first version lacks sound just isn't accurate. The sound is very full.
The meter is just all fucked up. The drummer sounds like he's trying his best to get through it.
What's with the gimmicky make-up? Oooh, they're terrifying!!!

I tried to tell them about the sound after a Concert. It didn't seem like the drummer's fault at all when I heard them Live. I thought it was the equipment or lack of. I thought the bass was too loud and/or the technology was set-up wrong.I love them~ You need to hear the CD Phantasmagore!! The makeup can be sexiii

DEADSY does an outstanding cover here, tho the recording is still not as good as it could be. What is noticable is the energy & sustenance put into these riffs, chords and vocals. The melody is eerie, drawing praise to the band's ability to convey the song's message of the evils and horrors of society and life.

Lol, all the haters: it's not 1981 anymore! It's the new millennium. Plus, the song is virtually the same just heavier guitar and deeper vocals and better synthesizer. You're acting like it's some big thing. GOD you guys are so annoying. If anyhing, the original lacks sound.

im a huge fan of rush and although im not big on cover songs i do like some...boys of summer by the ataris...shout by disturbed sat. is alright for fightin by nickelback...i really really dig this cover there stayin tru 2 the basis of teh song yet makin it there own...how u make a previous song u did not write u had no input in on the emotions of the song or the playablity yet still make it ur own and ur bands sound..is ticky and they managed 2 do that so kudas i like it there is my 2 sence

As a fan of Rush, I have to say this is quite the interesting take on Tom Sawyer, it's not unpleasant to the ear because the fundamental sound remains the same. I kind of like this guys voice, he's no Geddy, but I still enjoy the weird monotone sound it has.

Wow, this cover song SUCKS! If you think this band is rocking out, then you really should checkout RUSH! The original band who wrote this song "Tom Sawyer" is RUSH, from their Moving Pictures album (1980). Deadsy was probable still in their dad's nut sack when this song came out. I hope the band members of RUSH never come across this cover song that Deadsy did what a joke.

Their horror theme never fails to entertain. This was a packed house and their performance was impactful and incredible.

wow...this is TERRIBLE. Rush makes the original song...and its pretty good. I know Rush and Deadsy do totally dif types of music but...this is shitty compared to the original :\
