  • In 1964 my mother told me George was her favorite Beatle.

    Now he's mine.

  • he was the best beatle

  • watch?v=Saa5AomHAa8

A short part of this song played live on radio by George, as well as Far East Man.

I recommend it. It's from a rare CD called "George Harrison: Far East Man, Live Rarities"

  • @AdamGrossman777

Strange, right? I used to think he purposefully omitted it for some reason.

"You don't need no church house, you don't need no temple..."

  • You dont need no love in You dont need no bed pan You dont need a horoscope or a microscope The see the mess that youre in If you open up your heart You will know what I mean Weve been polluted so long Now heres a way for you to get clean By chanting the names of the lord and youll be free The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see Chanting the names of the lord and youll be free The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see
  • ME SUBE MI AUTOESTIMA :D jajajajaja ok no necesito nada mi GEORGE

  • Watch out for the quiet ones.

  • what was the story behind the line about the pope owning 51% of general motors? surely not?!?

  • @tuna2k10

Heh, it was an exaggeration. Just symbolizes that institutionalized religion is a political and financial creation.

  • R.I.P

  • We miss you so much. Everyday, George!

  • i love seeing klaus there

Hare Krishna.Amen,

  • I hope I don't need no bed pan.

  • Masterpiece!

  • You don't need no 2:09.

  • George Harrison was a transcendent talent, on a par with Paul and John.

  • Thank you ,George.

  • A lasting favorite from the best benefit concert ever ... 40 years and counting.

  • Praise God, Harre Krishna.........

  • Keep chanting - thanks George for giving us some clarity in the hippie fog!

  • LOVE!

  • George Is Talking About Seeking "The Lord" Hes right there for all of us. ' By Chanting the name of the Lord And youll be Free". If we only all did it more. .....If Only....

  • 間違いなくロック史上最高に格好良い場面だ!

    男でも惚れちゃいます。

  • Hare Krishna!

  • There's something wonderful about this.

  • ¡Temazo!

  • Just one of many outstanding songs from his masterpiece 'All Things Must Pass',I have the remastered CD BTW.

  • Most underrated composer and musician of all time.

  • @superbadedgar maybe his later life but as a beatle he was voted one of the top guitar players a lot.

  • What about schism, whizzim, dizzim, and hism (or herism). Geez, people who talk that way belong in prism!

Hinduism is a diverse system of thought with beliefs spanning monotheism, polytheism, panentheism, pantheism, monism, atheism, agnosticism, gnosticism among others;[65][66][67][68] and its concept of God is complex and depends upon each individual and the tradition and philosophy followed

  • Excuz pleez... the actual lyrics (My Sweet Lord)..."Have a knish now! Hurry hurry!"

  • makes my drunk ass dance - thanks George!

  • chant the nameS of the lord! that's right, george! love that man :)

  • Love that little strut he does with the guitar.

  • The great piscean, the great George!

  • phil specter is a fucking nut, but damn could he produce an album. WALL OF SOUND! ALL THE WAY!

  • @QuadropheniaBrosef I'm gonna agree with George here - Phil's "Wall of Sound" ruined that album. I mean, it's a total muddle of noise, you can't pick anything out.

  • RIP Great Man!!!

  • And most Hindus do not say Jesus is an incarnation of Krishna/Vishnu because Hindus never really knew Jesus.

The 10 incarnations of Vishnu are Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha (sometimes), and Kalki who is said to destroy the Earth in future.

  • Hinduism is a diverse system of thought with beliefs spanning monotheism, polytheism, panentheism, pantheism, monism, atheism, agnosticism, gnosticism among others;[65][66][67][68] and its concept of God is complex and depends upon each individual and the tradition and philosophy followed.

  • the live version i feel is superior to the album. too much noise on the album version.

  • he was perfection ... :)

  • Love the quality of these concert songs, eh?

  • @13THBEATLE Mind if I steal your religious beliefs since they pretty much sum up my own and I hadn't been able to express myself? I would only add that so-called Christians need to follow Christ who is love and forget all the other bull. Ah well, I could rant but you don't deserve that.

I also agree with you re: the wonderful, magical, beautiful soul that is George Harrison. What a fresh breeze he is and so missed. Oh - and do you know the other - what is it, 7? beatles since you're the 13th?

  • Damn, you don't know how much I would have KILLED to be at this concert! I'm one of the man's biggest fans, I got all the albums, I know all the songs. And that's why I hate being born in '96. :'(

  • @TheFrickinPope I'm with you on that! I was born in '96, too, and I would have done anything just to go to this concert.

  • @TheFrickinPope I know how you feel, I was born in the wrong year but at least we can see all of George's live videos, listen to all his songs etc. We love you George.

  • Chant the names of the Lord

    Hare Krishna Hare Krishna

    Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

    Hare Rama Hare Rama

    Rama Rama Hare Hare

  • All the spiritual traditions of the world speak about the importance and value of chanting the Holy names of God. It is a transformational experience. George inspired me to take up the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra in 75, and in a short time I was able to give up the destructive habits of ruining my "temple" / body with drugs , alcohol and eating poor dead animals. Thank you very much George for giving me the chanting of the names of the Lord...Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare

  • Coolest lyric ever....'By chanting the NAMES of the lord and you'll be free'.

This song is made great by that little 's' in the word 'names' because it demonstrates the different names of god in other cultures and demonstrates tolerance of other religions unlike Christianity, Islam and Judasim which say our god is right your god is evil and your going to hell.

  • @BOSIE321 You're making a whole lot out of something that probably isn't there. Especially since, as 1:40 demonstrates, Harrison uses "name" and "names" interchangably.

  • @KevinCarbonara look at the lyrics that george wrote

  • @BOSIE321 I don't care what all these artists want, think or believe. All I want is quality art from them. Just shut up and create.

  • @BOSIE321 I believe he is referring to the Hare Krishna mantra, in which the "names" of the lord, Hare, Krishna and Rama are chanted. Doing this is said to bring one back to their original consciousness: pure love of God. The chant can be heard in the song "My Sweet Lord," also on All Things Must Pass. I have to say, as somebody who glorifies religious diversity, I like your interpretation better. I'm sure George would liked it too.

  • @BOSIE321 One of them has to be right, surely.

  • @BOSIE321 Unfortunately at this time in Georges life he misunderstood WHO the Lord is. The names of the lord is an impossibility which George figured out before his death. George realizes that Jesus Christ IS Lord. Otherwise His dying on the cross and His resurrection were in vain.

  • @mybestbuddy100 On the same album George uses the name of Jesus. Go figure. Before his death he was interviewed by Bob Elliot writer of The Beatles biography and was told by George he had returned to his childhood roots of Christianity.

  • @mybestbuddy100 p.s track number two on his last album released after his death specifically states that he is ex-catholic. Go listen to it :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @mybestbuddy100 Just what the world needs.....another damn Christian moron who thinks his Lord is the only way to heaven. I believe also that George died peacefully to the sounds of tradtional HINDU chanting NOT christian prayers but we're getting away from the point. I would argue that George believed that all the gods that mankind worshiped were divine manifestations of one god which were no more no less valid when compared with each other.

  • @BOSIE321 Another stupid comment from somebody who thinks he's "cool" because he says All gods are equal. Think what you would like buddy. Bottom line is he returned to his Christian faith regardless of what foolishness you would like to believe. I myself am a Beatle' and George Harrison fan. Unfortunately your knowledge on who he was and what he believed doesn't matter. He made the choice so you should be upset with George since he was the "fanatic".

  • @BOSIE321 doesnt sound very christian to me :-)

  • @BOSIE321 So George was an ex-Catholic. And.... So am I. This only goes to show your stupidity concerning Christianity. Catholicism is a denomination, not a religion. George left the trappings of organized religion and did some searching. In the end his teachings from his boyhood won out. My suggestion to you my friend is to do a little research before you put your foot in your mouth.

  • @mybestbuddy100 I probably know more about your damn religion than you do but thats not the point. George died a hindu not a christian. Look it up. His body was cremated according to Hindu tradition. He was a liflong believer in Krishna. If you had listened to his last album you would know this. The last song on the album features a Hindu prayer and he brought his son up to be a Hindu too.

  • @BOSIE321 You knowing more than I about my FAITH is rich. I don't have time for religion just as George didn't. Anything his last album stated has nothing to do with what his beliefs were before he died. It seems your info comes from lyrics. Mine are based on the author of The Beatles biography. I certainly place more credence in what he said than your statements. Also what he taught Dhani has nothing to do with his final beliefs. So, I have "looked it up". Now you should do the same.

  • i love this version much better then the studio its George El natural

  • Chanting the names of the lord and you'll be free

    Yeah, is awesome.

  • this is one of the many who died way too young.

    what a guy.

  • We've been polluted so long

Now here's a way for you to get clean...

  • Music is universal. It crosses all human-made boundaries and divisions and labels like "Religion/Beliefs", "Nationality" , "looks" and more ridiculousness. Music is for enjoying

  • AMAZING SONG AND SINGER!!

  • The Beatles missed out on some stella tunes by repressing George!

  • George should have effect life of so many people and encouraged them in spiritual quest.

  • @13THBEATLE Amen to that!!! I wish religious people would stop being ignorant and see that it doesn't matter, as long as you are a good person, believe in god, and except him as lord, why would he send you to hell? it doesn't make sense.

  • great version! this is one of my very favorite GH songs. HARE KRSNA!

  • I thoguht he was a Hundi, ir Krishnaite... "...Before you can see Jesus..." Is this a mix of religions?

  • @MrNatwill2

He was a Krishna - however, they as do Hindus believe Jesus to be an avatar of Krishna.

  • @MrNatwill2

George also pretty much openly stated that he appealed to Christians with some of these lyrics to open them to Krishna Consciousness. For example, "My Sweet Lord" he mixes "hare krishna" and "hallelujah." He said that he started with hallelujah so christians would start singing along and end up singing "Hare Krishna." This has caused some christians to love him and claim his as their own and some to consider him anti-christ. Such is life.

  • @subg88 I'm a Christian, personally. However, I'm dissappointed how many other Christians thrown George Harrison out the window all the time. And how many counterfeit him and put him behind a shadow: In christian churches there was a tiemewhen My Sweet Lord was sung by the church choir, and they called him a Christian

  • @MrNatwill2 I agree with you. People cannot look past the idea of George being affiliated with Krishna. Personally, I don't care what religion he followed. He was a spiritual, gentle man with immense talent that is missed greatly.

  • @MrNatwill2 Its all the same thang babey!!!!

  • Man, I love this version of the song !

    (nb : I love Clapton's hair too)

  • AMAZING SONG AND SINGER!!

  • George was like a modern-day Jesus

  • @QueenBeatlesWings Naah that was John, no dad, told us to love each other, had disciples, married a protitute, got killed...

  • @QueenBeatlesWings -

I just saw hos bio by Scorsese - I had the exact same thought!!

  • I believe this version of this great song is much better without Spector's 'wall of sound'. Some things need to be left untouched. ... and what a message the song sends ..... George had the spiritual forsight back then as does Neale Donald Walsch in Conversations with God. They are two of many messengers of God.

  • @13THBEATLE you´re absolutely right mate! god bless ya!

  • Jessie Ed Davies R.I.P

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!! We love you George!! You'll allways be in my heart!!!!!!!!!!

  • i am the way - the life...no one gets to the father but through me....jesus....

  • Ahhh, this song instantly takes me back to 9th grade in Tucson...and getting drunk at a Mexican beach bar in Rocky Point, Mexico while on my first scuba-checkout diving trip. God, music was sooooo much better back in the day. It really was. So much great stuff came at us from all angles. We didn't have to put up with so much of the sterile, shallow, cookie-cutter bullshit that keeps getting put in front of us by the corporate radio stations and "star" makers nowdays.

  • Oh, If we could only have these days back again!!!!!!!!!

  • George was one of the wisest most caring human beings on earth and put it so beautifully and clearly that people needed to open p their hearts not argue over silly things

  • glorious, even without spector's wall of sound on the studio version (phil did sit behind the mixing board at these shows). even in a devout song as this, harrison throws in a little humor: "the pope owns fifty-one percent of general motors". you mean it's possible to love god and dislike the church? what a concept. thank you george.

  • "open up your heart...let's see about love !" I can dig it

  • why doesss he miss out church house and temple ?

  • @oraloralsex1571 I think he's being topical. I suppose he suspects bright listeners can fill in the blanks. Perhaps not.

  • George may have been the "quiet" Beatles- but what he said he said for a reason and from personal experience. George was so wise and tried to tell the world what was wrong- yet nobody lsitened and now he's gone.

  • This song, both live and on the album, shows a talent Harrison had which is often overlooked. We know he was a great guitarist, a poignant and introspective songwriter, but his abilities as an orchestrator and arrange are evident here. Sax, keyboards, a chorus of voices and TWo drummers ? ! ? !

  • Great song. One of the most amazing thing about the Beatles, was that George was the 3rd Stringer. Awesome...

Most of all things most pass including this song would not be out of touch on any Beatles song.

    Highly recommend checking out Brainwashed.

    Marcus Ronaldi

  • Great!!

  • George was such a wonderful musicain and kind spiritual wise man--the world needs to hear him and learn from his messages. RIP George- everyone misses you

  • If you like ripping Christmas music then please visit our youtube profile site. NLO has some of the most amazing guitarist ever to inhabit planet earth.

Take a Look at our some videos.

    Thanking You for your support!

  • All the Christians might be slightly misguided. George converted to Hinduism so the Lord he is most likely talking about is Hare Krishna.

  • shot outs to JESUS,,, love it

  • @PonyboyCurtis1982 where does he say that

  • George, why do people need visas and passports, we are free.

    George you are the Best

    Ceci

  • this is great concert! I have the DVD!

  • George sounds amazing here! :D But he always does!!!!

  • OK 13THBEATLE .

  • The Bhola Cyclone of 1970 and Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, the two catastrophic events that George Harrison was trying to bring attention to, have both largely been forgotten today. Thats sad.

  • George is my favorite. This is a gala performance! Thank you so much!!

  • Anti-papist and anti-rosary cracks I can do without but George was entitled to his opinion and had a gentler less acidic way of expressing them than John.. I still love the guy.

  • @gooshala Fuck da pope, no one hates on John Lennon and leave lsd alone.

  • @angerjohn Well Chapman did that's why he shot John. But John's not on this concert, George and Ringo were and they tried to spread peace and love through music without the rallying and activism like John Lennon.

  • @Ishi680 Chapman is a mind controlled slave lol.

  • @angerjohn Yeah, perhaps he was falsely indoctrinated and maybe even paid to kill John. If he ever leaves prison, its no surprise that he would be found dead because many people hated him. Someone even tried to kill George as well but failed. I don't even understand why some crazy guys would try to kill some of the best rock musicians that ever lived.

  • @Ishi680 jealousy... pure f-ing hatred :\

  • I revisit here every few months to see if my opinion has changed. Still the same - great arrangement, preachy and off-putting words. I don't need even George H. to tell me I'm "polluted" and "don't need no bedpan." Still, we love ya, George, whatever form you now take.

  • How come, at 1:30, when it zooms out it shows Clapton in his blue shirt and semi-acoustic guitar when at the start he's got his light blue jacket and solid body guitar?

    still a great song

  • because he is a fucking god. God's can change their clothing whenever they feel like it or their guitar body style.

  • HELL YEAH!

  • because they did 2 concerts on different nights, and they took the better footage

  • Wasn't George wearing different clothes at the first concert, or was that only during the sound check (there's pics of him with a shirt, vest and jeans during the concert)

  • You are right: He just enjoys changing his clothes... They also change their clothes during the Cream Goodbye concert ;))

  • the concert footage is from two performances.

  • I know

  • One of my favorite's from All Things Must Pass

  • I LOVE THIS! thank you!

  • I love it.

  • I love it! Thanks for posting this.xD

  • Nice.

I love it. Thanks for sharing. ;)
