@Gridania The reason people suck at FF XIII-2 battle system is b/c they rely on Auto-Battle instead of figuring out the mechanics of the battle system itself. The battle system in XIII-2 is probably %55 of the enjoyment.

why do you have to create a save file before playing the demo when you cant even save your game in the demo?

@KamenRider30 Probably to unlock something in-game once you play the full game? Given that there'll be bonuses for having an original XIII save file, a demo save file might start you off with a little something. That, or because of the length of this demo, it might help prevent the demo from crashing.

I saw that one of Serah's paradigm shifts was Sentenial and I bursting laughing. Her a Sentenial? That's just laughable due to how weak she was in the first game. It's time like this when I miss Fang and Snow, just cause of their awesome stats. Good game though, I'll be buying It when they FINALLY release it here.

Its a game.....where all you do is press x for about 10 mins straight, then this "game play of pressing x" is stretched out into about 40 to probably 60 plus hours of your rapidly pressing the x button.

@TheDeathlyNoob did u not see the QTE for special moves and monster moves and cinematic action parts? also autobattle is optional. so theres alot of d-pad too. not to mention O for jump. and L1 for role shifts. as well at triangle for canceling out moves early. ;/

I'm not too sure how I feel about this...

I didn't like XIII, but the way things look better in XIII-2, it looks like a better game overall.

Did they have to add Quicktime Events like that? Is this the direction RPGs are headed? Fight until you press buttons that ultimately decide if you actually WIN the fight?

Call me old fashioned, but it seems like FFs are just interactive movies than challenging games.

@Zazie900 How about for the first time you fought Atlas' arm? You needed to do the quicktime for the stagger entirely, wouldn't you think they'll place "decisive" parts of a battle for quicktime events? That kinda takes away from the RPG element entirely.

@Zazie900 I hope that you do lose when you mess up, or at least have to fight a little more again before you're able to do the cinematic part again. It'll be really REALLY cheesy if you just repeat the same quicktime cutscene until you get it right, and it'll add to the tension of, y'know, doing a battle right.

I don't want a game to hold my hand, I want them to be a challenge. Look at KH2, when you messed up a Reaction Command, you needed to fight again until it came back up.

I was reading online for reviews from XIII-2, and I read one from GI's Joe Juba, and this was how he summed it up:

“…time-travel and alternate realities are easy excuses to have a bunch of crazy stuff happen (or not happen) whenever it’s conveinent. Why is that giant flan blocking may path? Why is that person acting strangely? Here’s a hint: the answer to almost every mystery in the game is ‘a time paradox did it.’”
