This story is true and the man with the worn shoes was my grandfather. The film clip ended too quickly because what he really did was go down to the local pub and get drunk. The two young boys would later become apostles as they had gained a valuable lessen about how to con the less fortunate to believe in Joseph Smith. However, the film is correct that the gift of the two silver dollars gave everyone involved what they truly wanted at the moment.
