As for some of the comments here stating to go out in real life, I must say there are some people in the world that are handicapped in one way or another, whether in a wheel chair, or mentally handicapped, like say ausburgers disease (not sure that is spelled right), so SL is a good outlet for people like this to live their fantasies and socialize in a way they can not do in rl. So take it easy on the people that play this social simulation world!

I played SL for almost 4 years. I must say that it was quite an experience. I met many people from all over the world during that time. Made new friends that I still stay in touch with today. I went to weddings in SL. I know 2 sets of friends that met in SL and got married in real life. I owned my own island paradise, owned a dance club. I had good days in SL, bad days, I laughed, I cried, I was back stabbed, I was amazed at how nice some people can be out there. Over all it was a great time!

Its not just because your a loner or have nothing else going on in life, you dont need to be in that stereo type to use second life. Its just something that is unexplainable, its interesting, unusual, its a wonderful place once you get going. Meet new people and build wonderful friendships and romantic relationships that can possibly be forever lasting, as you can see. But that is, if you make that happen and open yourself up to new ideas and experiences. Im happy for these people in this video.

second life has been a double edge sword for me for nearly two years. i've found love, lost it and have gotten hurt. the one thing it did give me was a more supportive family than i do in RL. and a lovely SL master, despite the fact that i can get on his nerves, has been a great help to me. All of the people in seondlife that have been there for me through thick and thin. they've helped. The ones that have hurt me.... the hell with them.. SL has saved my life in some ways, but hurt me in others.

I think this is beautiful. I use Second Life (not play, I don't consider SL to be a game) and am glad to be a part of it. You can do so many things in SL that you may otherwise not be able to do in RL. Also, SL can be a door to RL opportunities. Love, for instance, can come in any form. There is nothing wrong with falling in love on the internet and then taking it to RL. Like someone has said, you can meet people in chatrooms, why not do it in a virtural world?
