PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do internet research on using SEA SALT for curing Lyme. I had it for seven months before I was diagnosed, and doxycycline only made me sicker. I took a shot of about 1/2 teaspoon of RAW SEA SALT in a small amount of water, and in only hours I felt better than I had in months! I continued this maybe three times a day for several days and it ended my Lyme. I take this "shot" every now and then just to be sure it stays gone. IT WORKS. DO RESEARCH. TELL THE PEOPLE!!

I am about to try the Low Spectrum Penicillan. Look under Diflucan and Lyme Disease on the Canadian Lyme Disease web page.I would not do the high dosage Diflucan...to sensitive, yet tried. But about to try the Penicillan. a bit less though. Interesting article. German Dr. had Lyme and used the US guidelines. Was not helped. Read what he has to say. Just passing along info. Dr. Oz thinks the "UNDER OUR SKIN" documentary is wonderful but a show about Lyme won't be done unless she sees lots of interest. You are completely wrong!

It is proven fact and not even questioned by "lyme sceptics" that borrelia crosses the BBB! This is why neurological symptoms can occur. This is even aknoledged by the IDSA.

Furthermore it's exactly the opposite way than you suggest: Borrelia are thought to be responsible for MS and related neurological autoimmune reactions. Another spirochete, the Syphilis causing Treponema pallidum, is PROVEN to cause the well know autoimmun induced braindamage related to Syphillis.

I could be wrong, there is so much mystery surrounding this disease. Just guessing. However, antibiotics crossing the BBB can also induce encephalitis/neurological disease. Compare the adverse effects of either doxy/minocycline/cefuroxime or ceftriaxone and they are very similar to symptoms of chronic Lyme disease. Granted, untreated syphilis spirochette attacks the brain, etc. But so does sending neuro-toxins across the blood brain barrier deep into the brain (stem). Hence stiff neck, etc.

Concerning the effects of doxy/minocyclin: Can you please name sources that prove your claims?

I have investigated this in depth and come to see that not only is there no documented case of brain damage caused by these antibiotics, they are even being used on MS patients to protect their brain from damage.

A 2007 medical journal report (NEJM?--have to get it from my site) shows a direct correlation between the severity of MS and compromising (crossing) of the BBB. Pharamaceutical breakdown of the BBB could very well be a cause of neurological disease. A news article today equates MS with geography/Vitamin D deficiency. But I'd go with the former for making the most sense.

As I stated earlier Minocyclin is even being used to treat MS because of its' protective influence on the nervous system.

The ELISA test is BUNK, if you get a Negative one, it's because it doesn't test all the bands. So if your antibodies are on those bands that they are skipping....they don't see it and you are really positive. Please PLEASE get a Western Blot, as you could be co-infected.
