Are the pieces "detaching themselves at high velocity," or do they literally break apart? Cause I'm thinking about doing this, except I dont want to keep constantly buying pieces that always break, or try to glue them back together...

More coming off than actually breaking. I've broken very, very few pieces. Considered placement of pieces helps to keep the number of broken pieces down. The parts to worry about are the electronics!

Surely Armageddon should win vs Reaper if the battle is timed out at 3 minutes?

The 3 mins were up just as Armageddon was teetering on the edge of the pit, but the 2nd seed falls at about 3:01 of the battle, and therefore should it count? Besides, Armageddon would easily win on a judges' decision, wouldn't he?

Barring Mayhem's chance to finish Thunder off, this really shows how the series has developed: Two veterans, one a former champion and one twice a runner-up, losing in the first round. Can only imagine how Brute might have suffered. Hope you do get a chance to finish this series some day, will be interesting to see the end of Whiplash's reign. At the moment, my two highest bets for the job are Bladerunner and Earthquaker. Maybe Thunder has a chance too.

I don't know. It never flipped very well anyway. Reaper is one of the heavier opponents, with good weight distribution. Maybe that is why.

Maybe if you make the flippers heavier on the rear, they might have enough push in the flipper to be useful again. Thewieght of your robots are getting heavier, or too bulky for the low weight in the flippers to do anything.

The odd thing is I have a weight limit and whilst a lot are around the 800g mark the flippers should be okay lifting that. I may need to think up a new contraption for flippers.

Well as I don't live near London anymore, I can't join your battles, so I was thinkign when I have spare cash(hopefully in the next few months) I might invest so you can start upgrading more/ make new bots.

However if the next series the flippers don't do anything(besides taking on hit n run and winning by clearing him out the arena) maybe you could try upping the wight limit by another 50g or so. The flippers do need something to give it wieght behind the lift mechanism.

more weight would make it harder for flippers to flip! I think I know what your'e saying, but it's not a case of the fliper bots lifting themselves forward (ala Velocity in LRW4) instead of flipping, its literally they struggle to lift up at all. overdrive seems to cope okay so far. Thunder is also okay just the scoop part is too easily broken.

I dunno, I'll need to think and do tests etc. I'm a bit stuck with it tbh : (

Shame about the flippers though and that armaggedon looks difficult to control.

However, I was wondering, how did you get the flippers to 'spring' up from their position. You know, like a proper lipper, rather than a lifting arm.

Lifters are much more powerful (hence the speed). There's a very short gear train between the motor and flipper mechanism, meaning less speed is lost, thus a flipping action. But it's not very strong in most cases.

Max is 4 per receiver, which i only do once with Bladerunner. Simply stick connectors on top of each other.
