ya, well when the sides/ walls of the vehicle are tilted, the hull can provide a thicker piece of armor, think about it, if a piece of metal is 8 inches thick, then when its tilted 45 degrees, the horizontal length is about 11 inches

It's ugly but very practical. It's good for transport use, since countries that are invaded and overrun and left with little resistance, with ambush and roadside bombs. This is a perfect vehicles to go from one place to the other. I think this is better than the MRAPS currently used by the Coalition Forces in the Middle East.

yes agree the simulation was like a cub scout pack throwing buns at it rather than a real firefight! run flats might work well, although I have seen British army landrovers running on three and 2 wheels after firefights so it can be done with some effort when you are shit scared and under fire! although this thing gives a false security and to return fire you have to be exposed from the protection and more likely to get killed from whats being banged around off the armour!
