not only was she a GRAND SINGER, Marlene was exceptionally brave in how she practiced in what she believed in, one of those was to oppose towhat was a fake ideology, in her case it was natzi system in Germany. she paid her price for that being deprived of returning to her homeland. after the war she did not want it to appear on stage in Germany. From 1933 -1938 the Nazis had killed all 60.000 kommunist leaders and started to prison the others into KZ! Their sad example & the hard daily terror that brought you to death if you resisted & the romantic propaganda & the impossibility to go away is a explanation for the carying out orders by many.

she layed flowers by the Monument of the unknow soldiers. Also in Holland she put flowers on the National Dutch War Monument in Amsterdam.

I have not heard this song before. It was a surprise to log on today and find this great gift by you JP. You know when you are listening to a special song of Marlena Dietrich. She holds it like a rare orchid and uses her unique raw vocal and delivers a message of love and sorrow at the same instant.
