  • this playing in my girlfriend is a gumiho fart scene brought me here -_-

  • Red Cliff is shit ! This is the true masterpiece !!!

  • Magnifique musique signé leslie chung sniff toujours une larme qui coule en regardant ce filme (joseph koo aussi)

  • Great song for a great movie!

  • @AequitasVeritas92- I know Hong Kong films have a tendency to borrow musical cues from Western films, but I'm worried about that famous scene of Mark in the hallway with his theme in the background. Did Joseph Koo write that, or is it also borrowed? Because I love it

  • hehe.... My GF is a Gumiho ....

  • bro you know what song it is as soon as you hear it

  • Haha, from My Girlfriend is A Gumiho :P

  • John Woo never topped the heart and soul of A Better Tomorrow. There's just something so beautiful and special about the film. The Killer and Hard Boiled may have more incredible action scenes but it doesn't matter. A Better Tomorrow is a movie that focuses on the characters, friendship, honor and brotherhood. One of the greatest films ever made and a film that deserves this prays worldwide.

  • Classic song and movie

NOne of the similar movies can replace a better tomorrow!!!!!!!!

  • A real movie, with a very powerful story 5 stars for this movie, i wish everyone knew about this movie. R.I.P. Leslie Cheung

  • DUDE... thanks for the upload.

  • Wasn't that one of the baddest-ass scenes in moviedom ever?!

    RIP, Leslie.

  • Great movie!

  • I tried to imitate theese guys.... eating at a bunch of asian resturants and carring guns, I eaven did a little counterfiting..... I went to jail; ha ha

  • @MajorReeves haha what you seriously have got some guts....

  • Red cliff was a good movie they need to make more movies from romance of the three kingdoms.

  • The best parts of My GIAG involve this song, so I'm listening to it.

  • @SagaciousLuDa well who cares about your lame opinion ? If you could tell us why, maybe I'll take your opinion a little more seriously.

  • @AequitasVeritas92 Kill Yourself

  • @AequitasVeritas92

He's not wrong. I found hard to love Red Cliff because of the horrible way combats are filmed and the audio post production, which I find seriously disturbing from a movie made by John Woo. This aside I enjoyed the movie, could have been much better though.

  • @SagaciousLuDa Suck My Dick

  • I wait for korean version of this movie . Love this song .. it's a touching story . Thx .

  • its one of those songs that leaves you breathless .....

    i love ir

    rest in peace leslie

  • beautiful song.

  • very good

  • This song is great, and so is the movie. I just love Ti Lung, especially when he is a mental breakdown. That's great acting right there.

I love all of these actors, it's too bad that only the ones on the sides got a chance in hollywood, but atleast Lung Ti is still active in china..

  • @RasmusbjorklundZ3rog IMO, its a shame Chow Yun Fat and Kenneth Tsang went to Hollywood. They havent made anything even near the old HK stuff since they left. Same for John Woo... They should have stayed in Hong Kong and made more awesome heroic bloodshed movies like The Killer and Hard Boiled.

  • @AequitasVeritas92 It's true that most of the stuff they did/do in hollywood is shit, but then again i think it is a good experience. I also think that it makes more people know of their earlier work.

I totally agree about John Woo though, but it's a good thing he went back to china to make red cliff, i haven't seen them though but i've heard that they're good stuff.

BTW: the killer and Hardboiled are amazing =D

  • @RasmusbjorklundZ3rog lol, I could tell by your name that you're swedish ! :D

Yeah its good more people know about their earlier work, even tho it was Stranglehold that made me buy Hard Boiled and then I was sold !

Hard boiled is the greatest action film of all time, I prefer The Killer tho, but Hard Boiled is fuckin awesome! ^^

Red Cliff is amazing, you gotta see it !

    Peace!

  • @AequitasVeritas92 haha yea me too...I was aware of Chow-Yun Fat for a long time but when I saw Stanglehold in action, I had to see its' source material and from there on, I found John Woo which opened my eyes to true action film bliss...the game wasn't great what it gave me was much more

  • @RasmusbjorklundZ3rog sure agre! His movies like Faceoff suck compared to this! And still Faceoff is kindoff cool...

  • @AequitasVeritas92 Agree with stuff about Chow Yun Fat and Tsang, but disagree with comment about Woo, Face/Off is an amazing film as is Broken Arrow, though stuff like Windtalkers and imo Mission Impossible 2 was a big disappointment.

  • Wow ..Thanks for posting

  • thanks for uploading this. i am a total movie freak and 'A Better Tomorrow' is my second favorite movie of all time: and trust me, that's saying something..

and the soundtrack is so classic...

    thank you so much

such a shame so many people will never know about this film

  • whats the name of the actor on the right next to Ti Lung?

  • Dean Shek

  • cool. and the guy next to him is kenneth? forgot his full name

  • Tsang :)

  • in former times everything was better, humans, which filmed, now is all fully scheise from 1980-1990 everything was correct thereafter everything fully shits

  • classic chinese cinema... legendary charactors.... Chow yun fat and Leslie cheung are timeless.. there's no contemporary hong kong actors that can measure up today.....

  • an action film in asia is not just that the story an the characters are so important as the action...some of those films has better stories than some movies that everybody considered greats

  • today asian movies are much better than american movies

  • so much better !

  • agree whole heartedly, but was also already true back in the past. a movie is not about special effects and explosions...

  • soo true !

  • You guys are obviously watching the wrong kinds of movies...there are so many movies out there, that what you said isn't simply true. You just need to beyond the "blockbusters". And there are just as many big budget turkeys in Asian cinema as there are in American, or any cinema really.

And DON'T "neg" me as a bad comment for this. It's called having an opinion and a discussion.

  • "you guys" who ?

  • does anyone know the name of the song, which sung by the children near the end of a better tomorrow 1?????

  • A Better Tomorrow movies change my life they showed me a lot of the most important things like honor, brotherhood, bravery and pride... Heroic Bloodshed movies are the best!!! Chow Yun Fat must be nominated for an oscar but US people are still racist.

  • what the, Chow Yun Fat has not made a lot of movies over in the US, why should the US nominate him an Oscar? Besides, an Oscar is usually given to people in drama movies.

Get your mind to the 21st century, stop finding every way to call U.S. people racist.

  • Yeah I think Chow Yun Fat should get an Oscar some day, because hes an amazing actor, but his films in the US aint that good, even tho' his performances are great ! But IMO, A Better Tomorrow is a drama film, but ofc there is some action too...

  • You've just pointed the reason thekhai, why do you think Chow Yun Fat has not made a lot of movies in the US? He moved to the US for a chance!! fucking stereotypes!!!... If foreign actors stood a chance in US markets people would really appreciate them, and I'm not just talking about chinese actors, they're many great actors in the world. Personally, most Hollywood movies are boring and predictable. I recommend you to watch a good chinese or japanese drama and you'll see the difference my friend

  • lots of great asian films : The Killer Oldboy Lady Vengeance Audition Lust Caution Assembly A Tale Of Two Sisters Taegukgi Friend Just to name a few
  • yeaaa, oldboy was such a good movie

  • Not all good Asian movies are action movies

  • all the best asian films are the ones that focus on the drama and human emotion, like The Killer, Friend, Once Upon a high school, Lust Caution,... But one of the most uniqe directors out there is Takeshi Kitano, his movies is awesome, but the best is ofc John Woo.

  • Be that as it may... all the movies you've listed are action movies.

What about movies like Ran or Sore de mo boku wa yatteinai or Okuribito or many of the other great Asian movies that aren't action films (not that I don't like Asian action films -- quite the contrary -- but still, the Asian film industry isn't a one-trick pony).

  • Are you calling Once Upon A Time In High School, Lust Caution, Lady Vengeance, Friend action films ? They have a total of 3 mins of violence. Hard Boiled, thats an action film !

  • I stand corrected. :)

  • Well, Asians are known to be in action movies anyways.

Here's something funny, I just like watching old school Hong Kong movies (action). But Hong Kong is going Hollywood these days so I don't like their action movies anymore. And I also rather watch Chinese drama (with action), too. Since an Oscar is only for people in Drama, I really don't care.

If Hollywood was in China, do you think the Chinese will let foreign actors or actresses win big?

  • If Hollywood was in China nothing would make any sense, the world would be completely different in a lot of things so your argument is not valid, stop taking drugs.

But if we suppose that, you are right! Chinese people never would let foreign actors win big, the difference is that China doesn't have a lot of people from many countries living there, making a part of the society and culture of the country itself.. the US does.. but don't mislead me, I like the US, I'm just bored today haha

  • Ok, then it's true that every country would rather have their own people be their star and hero, pretty obvious. I just don't like people assumes that the U.S. is racist. What year is this? I like to see how other countries deal with so many diversities.

Since I only like action movies anyways, screw this drama Oscar discussion, I am done.

Hey, don't accuse me of taking drugs. Did you smell something from my letters? It must be your monitor, not me.

  • so are they being stereotypes? or even racist? no it just that the americans are not into those kind of films even though they are bloody good...but like i said if a film is good then everyone around the world will like it know what i mean?

  • If a film is good, not just western or foreign then everyone around the world would like it. you gotta understand sometimes its really hard to fit into the US markets, im not talking about chinese actors japanese or french etc...sometimes even some really good British movies cant be appreciated by the American viewers...

  • Chow Yun Fat playing Master Roshi in Dragonball Evolution is up there with the Orson Welles pea commercial, in my opinion.

  • haha he got owned...he might as well saying if a white guy tells him nowadays not just asians know how to use chopsticks then he must be a racist...i agree that the academy wasnt fair to a lot of foreign films and directors...Ang Lee should ve won an award for Sense and Sensibility...but that was in the past ,the time has changed, the acamdy right now been givin more chance to the foreign films...

  • Hey Bro where are you from?

Nice that there are still people out there who celebreate that movie ;)

  • Hey dude, I live in Norway, and yes its an awesome film, I own all of John Woo's Heroic Bloodshed films from 1986-1992. :D my favourite is def The Killer :)

  • this song is so cool i love this movie Thx for upload 5 *
