  • Devastator was the only combiner to be made up of six Transformers, rather than five.

  • I thought the only Menasor was in Transformers Cybertron!

  • Fight! Fight! Fight!

  • Transformers characters were only superbadass until they next new transformer toy came out. Then the cartoon would depict THAT character beating the crap outta the PREVIOUS badass character. Devastator was all that until Menasor came out. And then Bruticus, and Superion..etc. All said, I liked Devastator the best of all the combiners. Best looking design and coolest looking robots.

  • Menasor devastates Devastator.

  • I had Menasor as a kid! They had kind of "Biker gang" thing about them and Menasor himself was an awesome toy.

  • Menasor gonna smoke Devastator like fucking Bacon!

  • Where in the hell did that g1 train combiner come from

  • Astro chain change his size to fit all the constructicons combined. That was a big mass shift

  • lol that 1st blow looked like it could take off devastator's head XD

  • come on, its Devastator, but without Bonecrusher getting hit from behind

    GO DEVASTATOR!

  • now menasor learns how to speak...i recalled him speaking not fluently but okay..i can understand him that much

  • press 1 repeativly for devastator to hump the enegon cube

  • @Ultra24K XD you have to much time in your hands to have noticed this lol. But thanks for the chuckle of finding this.

  • there,s one episode with optimus prime,s hand with one gun defeats devastor with one blast, but in other episodes all teh autobots shooting at once has zero effect on devastator, same with menasor in the episode when he wants to attack defensor the autobots shoot him out of the sky with 2 or 3 blasts

  • @leukste4 - was that actually Devastator who got blasted? All I remember is the kick ass dialogue between Optimus and his giant enemy: "What good would one arm be? "That's because at the end of the arm is a gun."

  • What's happeand with Devastators arm?

  • @ultron14000 Lack of energy to stay attached on!

  • @aclemons1004 Ok.

  • This is like what, the second time that Menasor snuck behind somebody?

  • looks like the stupid ass gobots animation here, yuck. i hated many of these t.f. episodes.they lost everything that made the transformers. just horrible!

  • What I always found so funny is that if you look at menasor in the G1 cartoons, it looks like he just has 2 arms and legs, that are literally *covered* with some auto's. It looks like they're just added as shiels, instead of how each arm and leg was actually a serperate robot. Lol. I did found that facinating though, all those things that were impossible. Just like astrotrain who could just 'grow'bigger as a jet..lol. Made no sense, but was pretty cool non the less. The good old days!

  • @PowerRedBull Astrotrain, Blitzwing "Mass Shifted" their extra size. That was the explanation given. Look up transformers mass shift and you can see for yourself. As for Menasor. He used to be my favorite but he never got love. No real form...never very effective and not very well used. In the comics stunticons were a nightmare but the cartoons just kinda shit on them!

  • @goddimmus

hey man, thanx for the explanation. Blitzwing did not really change size, did he? I've mostly watched the cartoons (not so much comics) and I do not remember him becoming ultra large..or did he grow in his flightmode too? To transport others?

  • @PowerRedBull well it was Astrotrain that mass shifted to become larger to transport others in his flight mode. He becomes a locomotive as well but mass shifts to become a transformer sized loco. Blitzwing actually only mass shifts the parts around inside himself to make room for tank parts and plane parts and whatnot! Best example of MASS shifting would be Broadside. Look him up. He doesnt even make sense when he does it!

Megatron as well mass shifts. He can choose TF sized gun or human sized!

  • well well, look at this Menasaur has beaten bruticus and Devestator

  • @stethespaniard2

hey now, he sucker punched bruticus and beat a one armed devastator. that makes him more of a coward. im not really being serious, but its true

  • @radicalman33 Of course according to his tech specs he wouldn't be able to do anything much, because in combined form Menasor is a psychological mess

  • @reptongeek Well yeah given how Menasor is a combo of a Ork-like Bully, a goth, a crazed stunt driver, a narscisist and a paranoid guy, it's no wonder he's messed in the head......

  • @girlgarde Also to add to this combustible mixture is that Motormaster and Drag Strip are loathed by their fellow Stunticons. Drag Strip is SO obnoxious he is hated by all Decepticons never mind his own team-mates!

  • holy crap menasor just beat the shit out of the contructicons

  • If they were low on energy I think it would be a real fight and I think Devastator would win

  • he really wanted to consume that pink energon cube

  • I liked King Poseidon from Masterforce, but he was never pitted against any other gestalts but could regenerate lost limbs from the endless population of Seacons. One of the more interesting characters was Road Caesar from Victory, as he was just 3 robots but had some bad-ass sword skills. Then there's Liokaiser, who was six decepticons armed with a three-section staff and could turn invisible. I take it TF3 has Superion and possibly Menasor. Or Bay might invent a totally new gestalt. Typical

  • Why does Devastator's eyes never cease to change? It's either regular eyes, then will switch to hos shade looking eye.

  • All the combiners are fragile to some degree. It's an enormous strain on the individual robot's circuitry to sustain their massive form. Depends also on how well the team gets along. The most fragile is probably Dinoking (Monstructor) from Victory, as that team is constantly bickering. I guess the Scramble City gestalts are more stable as they have a leader for the main body. Ah why is it the merge groups are the most interesting characters?

  • @johnedsel Yea im guessing thats why they made the energon and powercore combiner bots only a Boss and a bunch of drones

  • @Bob1986

In the commentary the writers explain that ALL of the characters for season 3 were created for the movie as a transition between g1 and g2. Hence killing most of them off. This was before 8 different versions of the same toy were thought up. They say it was to push the new toy line.

  • Of the three season 1 and 2 combiner Decepticons (Bruticus, Devastator and Menasor) Menasor was the most powerful...Devastator was incredibly fragile at times, with Prime dropping him with one shot on more than one occasion...Bruticus was also one-shotted a couple times (once he was blown to pieces 15 seconds into an episode)...However, Menasor was always shown to be virtually indestructible, the way they all should be...

  • @Splattercat it is weird how mensor wasnt a combiner in cybertron

  • I wouldn't say Menasor is the more powerful gestalt. He's probably the smartest. Watch him in battle and you'll see he always strikes at the weakest point. Devastator is incredibly slow since he's comprised of 6 very heavy vehicles. Bruticus wins out on brute force but he's dumb. And for God's sake please don't be referring to the B.O.T. g1 episode where Defensor destroys him with one shot. That episode was an abomination.

  • @johnedsel It was an awful way to end the second season.

  • @johnedsel

    Haha.

  • @johnedsel The smartest was Computron ,while the most effective/deadliest is Predaking. According to the bios anyway...

  • @Splattercat well it seems like menasor is the strongest because well.... if prime shot menasor with one shot like devastator he would fall too.

  • The only reason devastator lost was becouse he was low on energy and was missing and arm.

  • @kingavalon I agree. I wanted Devastator to kick his ass so bad the first time i saw this episode.

  • i really hated this era of Transformers.

  • Because they were made for the movie.

  • @jakebob2006

Yes but the movie was being produced at the same time as season 2 was. Meaning in pre production when they were writing the script season 2 had only just started, and Menasor hadn't been created yet so they couldn't write any of the combiners except Devasator into the film.

I know according to canon he existed, but to the film's writers he didn't at the point they were writing it.

  • Yeah, one of the comic adaptations of the movie tried to explain their absence from the main battle as Omega Supreme holding them off. (It also explains why Omega wasn't there.)

Which works for me. Omega is awesome enough to hold off two or three gestalts.

  • Well that's because at the time the movie was in production Menasor and Bruticus didn't exist. So he was sort of the most powerful in the movie.

  • Menasor:Resist me & be Destroyed!!(Swings the sword @ Constructicons trying to merge again to form Devastator).lol

Now I know why he is called Menasor. He's mean & a menace to all.lol

  • It's well known that devastator was a closet cross dresser. If you look at him he's actually wearing a pair of high heels. So I agree, cut devastator some slack, it's very difficult to fight while wearing heels, unless you're a tranny hooker.

  • @jazzaj2003 saying a robot is anything like that is just dumb. Ya can't blame him for how his parts look

  • @jazzaj2003 try saying that to the pilots in gundam

  • @jazzaj2003

Were you actually being serious with that ridiculously gay comment?!?

  • from what i have gathered they have basic batery power and then energon power.. on battery power only the all suck ass and die. during season one the energon flowed free by the time of the movie everyone was plain out of energon. notice menosaur didn't blast him instead he used his sword. just my thoughts. devastator didn;t have the power to staytogether let alone fight.

  • i think its just energon they run on and menasor sure dident seem lacking

  • Why is Devastator so pathetic in season 3? I mean, not only is their this pathetic display, but also he gets taken down by Perceptor in an episode later this season. He used to be so cool.

  • Cut him some slack. He had an arm missing and was caught by surprise.

  • i know thaats so disaponting he was always slow but he was really strong

  • He's the weakest and simplest of all Combiners. Which actually makes sense as he was the prototype. Note that all other combiners are have interchangable limbs and better weapons while Devastator does not.

  • I would love to see him and menasor tag team Predaking

  • possibly cuz the autobots have figure his main battle strategies (Dev. is as strong as an ox but as smart as a jellyfish). my guess teh 'bots have been (since they have O Supreme, Superion, and Defensor now plus by season 3 Computron). also Dev is the 1st combiner later models are smarter (mostly smarter) new at the time but primitive by the shows end. Think at 1 time suits of armor were almost invincible but by the time bullets and high speed arrows came they couldn' t last.

  • i thought devastator was stronger than that in the movie he takes some rockets stays together and defeats the dinobots but here he ust stood there while menasor cut him up

  • yea, but here, devastator is weak because he doesnt have enough energon, i think

  • Menasor has an amazingly badass voice.

  • that was a energon cube

  • its energon CUBES

  • It's an energon cube

  • what the?!? I just noticed this now! So Devastator doesn't have his left arm, which is formed by Bonecrusher (the bulldozer), right? Well when Menasor reduces Dev to his component bots, guess who's with them in the pile at 0:14?

  • menasor could easily beat devastaor with no sword

  • menasor give devastator the same punch like bruticus him gives

  • now that is a sword swing!

  • is devastator a single minded being

or is it all of the constructicons together

  • both accually, the constructicons cant cooperate in combined mode well cause theyre first combiners with lots of glitches, so Devastators reactions just comes out very primitivly.

  • I think "word of god" has it as being some sort of joint consciousness. Something like a beehive for 5 sentient beings.

  • I think it sucked that they made Devastator be almost unstoppable but by the end of the show he was the weakest combiner of the decpticons.

Bruticus would kick both there asses even though he got sucker punched by Menasor (Star Screams brigade) and Menasor pretty much suckered Devastator from behind with a sword.

  • First season all the kids made their parents buy all the robots to form Devastator because he was the coolest robot of all. Season 2 there was the new coolest robot and it was made clear in the tv show that the kids should get their parents to buy this new "coolest" robot.

  • Menasor needs to pull it back a bit at 0:10

  • at the point were Devastator is forced apart, isn't there 6 that make him, I only see 4.

  • nooo devastator was afraid because he dont have his rigth arm

  • Uh... ALL of the episodes are adverts. That's kind of their raison d'etre, ya know? The phrases 'introductory episode' or 'feature episode' ring a bell?

  • I think some of the episodes are basially adverts for a particular transformer. Altho when you really think about it. Who makes up Devastator? The Constructicons. The Constructicons are builders and creators. If they do maintinence work and repairs on the other decepticons. What to stop them from tampering with the Combiner teams anyway?

  • no devastor is the best combinor period

  • Shame he always loses - LOL

  • yeah but he is the alpha version, all the rest of them were created to destroy him, plus none of the other combinors have any charactor, they all apperared

  • Hadnt thought of it like that.

    Maybe your right

    Cheers

  • predaking

  • he was obsolete compared to the other combiners, anyway he's still my favorite combiner

  • @DTNenforcer me too. Devastator was the sole gestalt that made me watch the transformers back in 1984 and it bacame my favorite cartoon of all time mostly because of him. He is also the first and most popular combiner by far. He appeared in more episodes of the transformers generation one than any other combiner.

  • predaking would kick all their asses

  • Speak english.

  • Menasor just had kicked Devastator back! How means he is!

  • Menasor > Devastator. COme on, PERCEPTOR blew Dev away.

  • Oh did he now?

Or was he blown away by the most awful animation 80's have ever seen, hmm?

  • Perceptor in one episode did take down devastator with a single shot if I remember correctly.

  • predaking fell apart simply by being pulled down by sky links tail. this season made all the gestals mad suck and made them look supurbly weak

  • So thats where menasor was during the transformers movie, hiding behind that rock, what a badass beating down on poor old Devastator just after his huge battle in the movie and missing one arm, guess he always picks his moment, like when he sucker punched Bruticus from behind on one of the old episodes, youd think Menasor was created by starscream with his dirty underhanded ways, not Bruticus.

  • devastator just wasnt ready, thats all.

  • Word!!

  • I wish Devastator kicked his ass. Devastator is my favorite transformer of all time! Nobody else comes close. He was the one that back in mid 1980s made me watch the transformers. I watched it just to see him. Although it was rare in the beginning to see him but when i did, it made my week. But according to the transformers script,it said Menasor is the ultimate Decepticon weapon. Personally i think he was good but he wasn't my favorite. I personally think Bruticus should've kicked Menasor's ass

  • Menasor smashed Bruticus and Starscream with ONE punch in "Starscream's Brigade". Nice try, dude.

  • its logical that Devastator loses the fight against Menasor. Menasor is a newer and advance model. Devastator was the first of its kind. A prototype. And like all protypes, it had a few weaknesses. First it couldnt utilize the intelligence and skills of its 6 cons. It was dumb. Second it was slow and had a agility of a hippo. Nevertheless with all its weaknesses it compensated it with strength and bruteforce. A nice constrast since Constructicons construct but combined its a force of destruction

  • I never noticed that!

  • if devastator was fully complete he'll be going prepare to meet your doom

  • It would have been a much better fight. Notice the arm that fell off was Bonecrusher. He is the muscle of the Constructicons. As for Menasor against Bruticus. Menasor had 2 things going for him. The element of suprise and the higher ground. Having the higher ground is always an advantage in any battle.

  • and the fact that Devastator was falling apart. Literally.

  • YEP!!

  • poor devastator and menasor they sooooooooo handsome but bad guyz but i looooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve them!

  • poor devastator and menasor they sooooooooo handsome but bad guyz but i looooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve them!

  • los monos .. kulios feos los concha su madre

  • Not surprising. Devastater seems to always lose against robots that are his own size. Its cuz he moves too slow compared to the other combiners and Omega Supreme

  • The minds that make up Devastator pull him in too many directions. Due to this, his movements are slow and his thoughts primitive, so he goes with the first action that comes to mind. This is why he needs someone to give him direction and purpose.

  • i agree with you on this one Darkmagickian. Plus, Devastator and the constructicons were the prototype versions for future combiner teams.

  • But Menasor is even worse off than him. All the Stunticons hate their leader meaning Menason struggles not to kill himself.

  • You kind of have to look at the comics see and understand the Devastator. On the show Bruticus beats him but had JUST powered up before the fight. And had suprise the factor. Omega Supreme is much larger. In the comics (Dreamwave & Marvel) Devastator beats Defensor and Superion.

  • On the show that Bruticus beats Devastator they were trying to sell Bruticus toys and what better way than to have a jobber. This is a fact. They did not even spend time shading or drawing Devastator unlike Bruticus. Storywise it is retarded cause Starscream some how makes a gestalt w/o experience or a factory. How do they know how to fight as a giant combiner? The animated movie was almost soley made as an engine to sell new toys that is why most of the old lineup died to make room for the new.

  • I see you understand!!

  • Starscream was a scientist prior to joining the Decepticon ranks.

  • love how they can't ever draw devastator consistently. first he's got optics/sunglasses-looking things for eyes, then in the next shot, he's got two eyes. tsk tsk to the animators

  • Devastator should of kicked his ass

  • I wish Devastator kicked all of their asses. Devastator is the best.

  • i have only seen Cybertron,Armada,Energon, and the Old Transformers Movie.... but why is Devastator so week?

  • devastator is one of the most dangerous decepticon, but like everyone else he has bad days.

  • This is the first scene after the movie. Devastator fought all night, and was the main weapon in the battle to destroy autobot city. Menasor was no where to be seen. Devastaor did not renergize, Menasor was fine. Thats why we see this!!

  • Bonecrusher (the left arm of Devastator )power was so low he could not even hold himself to Devastator.

  • He was running low on fuel. The power needs of the combination are such that he needs refueling after a short time.

  • And the Decepticon wonder why their metallic ass are always kicked by the Autobots...

  • arent they both on the same side?!?!?!?

  • Yes they are, but Darwinism is alive and well in the minds of the Deceps. In the 1987 movie, they jettisoned all of the "weak" (including Megatron!) into space, where Unicron changed them.

  • Devastator is my favorite transformer/combiner of all time. In fact, he single handedly made me a big fan of the transformers, solely because of him I watched the transformers religiously every week. He is definitely the first & most famous combiner of all time. My second favorite is Bruticus then Omega Supreme.

  • omega supreme is not a combiner. he is a cybertronian guardian robot.

    ... wow that's geeky.

  • no nice match from victory liokaiser vs devastator

  • dutchboy

    predaking vs menasor nice match

  • Predaking vs Abominus would be sweet as well.

  • lol Devy got pwnd

  • when i saw first time this episode i can't belive that devastator was defeated by Menasor, well i was only five years old then :p and in that momment i wasn't thing in tha movie chaos

  • how come menasor got a sword?

  • if you watch the episode Masquerade you will see menasor with a sword

  • Menasor has a sword because one of the components, Motormaster, is primarily armed with it normally.

  • Yo!! Devastsor fought for 24 hours in the destruction of autobot city. Fought the dinobots, & aidded in the fight against Unicron. Without renergizing. ¡¡¡PUNK ASS MENASOR!!

  • indeed 99

  • Heavy Vehicles (Constructicons), Military Vehicles (Combaticons) vs Light and Weak Cars (Stunticons)? Who wins? I'm sure Menasor will be loser here.

But people consider Menasor 'Super Warrior'; Devastator and Bruticus just 'Warriors'...

Well, I never accepted 'mighty' Menasor...

  • UH, HELLO.. Menasor was made with IMPENETRABLE shells, in robot AND vehicle mode.. Bruticus can EASILY be defeated with a tap of his rear safety switch. Devastator has size, NOT skill on his side. Menasor is a PURE warrior, straight and simple. Both are NO match for Menasor. Also, Menasor is made from Earth cars.. so Cosmic Rust which only is dangerous to Cybertronian metals would leave Devastator helpless. Menasor FTW.

  • In the cartoon, the constructicons were built on earth too. And at fullpower, Devastator has more than enough strength to take almost any other gestalt, Menasor included.

  • wow that wassome bad syncing, wth the heck, lookedlike menasor said something before he said something, oh well

  • exactly!!! after the unicron's destruction, Galvatron (before Megatron) became into a madrobot without a control of his own acts... a really waste of leader...

  • i suspect that Galvatron went mad because he wasnt sure who he was anymore. A mild case of Multiple personality disorder possibly.

  • he went mad cause lava seeped into his brain, its explained in the episode "Webworld"

  • yes i knew that too, but wouldnt you go a bit mad if you werent sure who you were anymore? In the comics, that is why he went insane.

  • what episodes that

  • five faces of darkness first episode

  • LE FALTA UNA MANO!
