I don't think Barbara has an accent. She just has speaking problems. Usually, these are corrected in childhood in special speech classes in the early grades. I had two brothers that took these classes and their problems were corrected. I think Barbara was a lost cause.

She's trying to affect a Mid-Atlantic accent. It pretty much doesn't exist anymore but it's the type of transcontinental American/British accent that Cary Grant had, which americans schooled in europe (and vice versa) had. Peter Jennings(canadian) and Hepburn are other examples. Barbara grew up a NYC Jew so you can guess what her natural speech was like, but she's trying to affect what she considers a more "classy" accent... kind of like Madonna it sounds really messed up.

I hate the way these women from up north kind of subtly make fun of Kellie, like she's "southern white trash" or something (write a country song about your "hobag" mom who left you and your dad in jail). I hate the view, these women are so nasty sometimes. Kelly is great though, I'd rather just listen to her:)

Uh, Jordin Sparks is 500 times the singer Kellie Pickler will ever be. That little rendition she did of Broken Wing wasn't all that good. Jordin blew that song out of the water. As for her being a commedienne, she isn't bright enough to know what one is. You're diluted if you think this girl is being stupid to be funny.

What I love best is that Kellie, as nieve as she seems sometimes, is a very strong woman and stands up for herself and doesn't allow a moment to pass with misconceptions. Great on her! Fabulous.
