That's not the fault of the Americans but rather the fault of the American media networks bombarding them with low-brow sitcoms that spoonfeed the audience repetitive campy one-liners and crass jokes.

Deadpan is an acquired taste for sure, but this kid shows great promise, particularly in a culture that is overall quite ignorant of high-brow comedy.
