Sorry, ggg1963, but this song was written before Solidarnosc existed. It had nothing to do with that movement. The only reference to Poland is the musical genre.

Jon expressed a personal ambition to sing this song to the Polish people, which he realised while on tour with Yes in 1998. That performance bought tears to my eyes, particularly the refrain from the Warsaw concerto and Jon's observation that Solidarity changed the world. Great song.
