Did you think it might have been a good idea to check the forecast before you went out into the water with a tiny boat???

I did... at 12 noon I checked the met radar and there was a small storm cell to the Nth East - nothing too severe. Just in case though, checked the Met site for any warnings and none were current. So I guess the answer to your question is "YES"

i know how weird, at about 8am that storm was tiny, at 3pm it was nearly 3 times the size of melbourne

@TheViolentTeddy I was in Melbourne. There was no forecast of storms that day. It was a freak event and everyone agrees.
