Can anyone download the other older version of this song by Newbury? It was on someone's chanel and then they pulled it off :/ I hate it when that happens! Thanks
He wasn't a songwriter: he was a poet. Every word was pregnant. Even better than KK and that's saying something. (Though Casey's Last Ride is a masterpiece)
Of all Mickey's songs, I have always loved this haunting ballad the most. Only he can sing his own classic with such deep conviction and meaning. His voice is coated in Southern-style, gritty velvet and his music takes you to far away places in your past, burning with the longing to return to a forgotten memory; just to touch it one more time......
My good friend and I miss him every time I pick up my pen to hurt somebody bad.

KK credits MN for teaching him how to write a song.

Actually never heard of Mickey. But I loved this song on Joan Baez's album. Considered she did an excellent job of singing it!

For those few who found a musical education through the FM radio of the Seventies... Those of us who listened to a D.J.

If you don't like the whistle of a freight train at night, then you probably won't like this song....... but the chances are you do like it,
so be thankful for that whistle.........and this song...
