  • Hermoso recuerdo de Sammy y Jerry a Al Jolson

  • Normal times!

  • This is what STARS used to Look Like!!!

  • I couldn't believe when I found out that Sammy ended up broke and when he passed away they sold off his pewrsonal things to pay for his funeral. Thats aweful :(

  • @JaimeLe50s not really, it's how it just goes.

  • OH FLOOBERNINO ALL WAS WOWWWWWW IN HIS YEARS HE WAS THE BEST. THINK FORE MILLION PEOPLES HE STILL IS, MY MOM LOVED HIM HE WAS KING LATER HIS SONGS OTHER ARTIST DID SAM WAS ONE MY FAVORITE DEAN WAS AN OTHER . I THINK THEY DID GREAT BETTER IF THEY DIDNT LOT OF OTHERGEBERATIONS DIDNT KNOW ALL LOVE JAN FRON NETHERLANDS

  • I was very disheartened to learn that the telethon will be cut to only 6 hours. Even more disturbing was the fact that the press release on the MDA website had no comment from Jerry Lewis. In fact the press release didn't even mention him at all!

  • Nice. How nice it would have been to see Jolson in person, but these guys do pretty good... I saw Sammy Davis perform in the late 70's and again he did a Jolson trib.

  • I miss my pal Sammy! I used to wait on Danny Lewis, Jerry's Dad, at the Staff table at Brown's Hotel, and when Jerry would visit he would make it up to me for his Dad's poor tipping! Those were the days!

    :):)

  • I Love Sammy Davis,Jr.. But? Mr.Lewis is entertaining only

on his MDA Labor Day Telethons.

  • They are great but nobody was Al Jolson who was the greatest of all time.

  • Saw these legends at Bally's in Las Vegas. What a show they put on .

The old timers are still the best :)

  • Joe.

You made my night for posting this!!!!!

    Tom

  • Great songs by two of the best entertainers ever! thank you!

  • nice attempt by 2 legends, but... nothing can beat the originals !!!

  • but quite close, doing it their way

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • Besseie - this was shown on UPN 9 out of New Jersey - they air the Jerry Lewis Telethon every labor day and have since 1987.

  • Wow where was this at? Great meledy!

  • Joe,

Thankyou so much for posting this. I loved every second of it and then some--cause I watched it a few times. My favorite performers.

  • It should be noted that this was after Sammy had appeared on the Telethons 6 times before singing 12 songs throughout 19 hours.

  • That's what makes ALL of his telethon performances remarkable.

  • Was it a coincidence that the ONLY line they skipped was "Ol' Black Joe..."???

  • I'm sure that was done on purpose.

  • They always sing "Sing it soft and low" instead of "Ol Black Joe", which is what they did here.

& in Sammy's solos of this song, he sings "soft and low".

In the second time that verse was sung in this video, Sammy was fooling around 'being' Jerry, it was just a coincidence it was during that line. :)

  • That was fun!!

  • Is it known which TV station broadcastet this?

    Thanks!

  • Good, but this just show how bloody good Al Jolson's voice was

  • YOU AIN'T HEARD NOTHIN YET!!!
