Pacific Fighters can be used as a stand alone game, or as an add on to IL2 Forgotten Battles.

This is IL2 FB+Pacific Fighters+The Ace Expansion Pack in a single installation, encompassing elements of both Eastern and Western fronts of the European war, and the Pacific war.

The latest edition is IL2 1946, which includes all of the above plus some "what if" aircraft types that may not have ever flown or even gotten past the drawing board...

Get IL2 1946. It has everything, including Pacific Fighters on on one DVD.

If you get only Pacific Fighters you will have a much more limited plane, map and mission set, and you won't find anyone to play online with, because everybody plays 1946.

Im very disapointed with blackshark. Ive already lost 2 lives thanks to hardware failure and software failure. Unfortunatly you need to be able to run the game to deactivate it.

The latest version of the game is called "IL2 1946" and it is for pc from Ubisoft. It's a great game, but if you're not accustomed to flight simming it can be very frustrating to learn.

I am used to flying big passenger jetcs and GA aircraft in flight simulators but not fighter planes, is it difficult to master? I don't think it can be harder than mastering the 747 but I am not good at shooting, in shooter games I rule but when it involves vehicular combat, I am as good as my 4 year old brother.

Get the book "Fighter Combat" by Robert Shaw. Once you master the aircraft, it can help a great deal with tactics. It's the official US Navy air combat text.

The game is Pacific Fighters merged with IL2 Forgotten Battles and the Aces Expansion Pack. Pacific Fighters could either be installed as a stand alone game (with no German or Russian aircraft) or, along with the Aces Pack, installed as an expansion of IL2 FB , allowing you to fly all the planes you see in this video.

This isn't CFS at all. It's IL2 Forgotten Battles/Pacific Fighters. This video was made over three years ago. The latest edition is called IL2 1946 and it includes the whole series and some add ons and several new aircraft that weren't available when I made this.

Alot of people swear by Saitek sticks. I had one that was faulty, but I may have just gotten a bad one. Stay away from Logitech, I had one that worked GREAT for a few weeks, but I replaced it repeatedly under warranty until I got tired of driving back to the store for the free replacement.Older Microsoft sticks with a twist rudder control are highly regarded. I use a CH Fighterstick, but they have no rudder function, so you would need rudder pedals as well (a pricey alternative but great)

Basically, any stick that has a throttle control, twist rudder control, a few buttons that feels solidly built and isn't made by Logitech is probably a good safe choice.

i ahve a logitech freedom 2.4 wireless joystick wiht 10 programmable buttons and all functions u'd needa dn mine works great even from 20 feet away...theirs no flaws in it whatsoever..even look it up at circuit city or something for reviews its a perfect joystick NO problems with it whatsoever =).

Having played the IL2 series game on and off since 2001 online,I'm biased, I think that with all it's faults the IL2 series is the best. I didn't care for CFS 3 at all, and I never played any pay to play sims other than free trials.
