I just made my first flight in a SportStar his morning! I loved it! I have been training in a Diamond DA 20 up to now. I'm really looking forward to finishing my light sport training in the Sportstar!
Is it 50kts for takeoff? My instructor tells me to go up at 50kts. I guess its just for training purposes, and I'm assuming that you are a very experienced pilot! Nice video, gotta love the sporty!
The Pilots Operating Handbook (POH) or Aircraft Operating Instructions (AOI) should provide the rotation speed. However, I noticed in many LSA that it feels a little slow so I usually add 5 knots as a good practice to account for variable winds and such. Usually the instructor modifies slightly based on experience. Better to fast than to slow.
What kind of tripod did you use? I would like to film my first solo in the Sport Star.
