what about unity and coherence? could you explain what is coherency? Have noticed that you directed your guidelines towards more into coherence but hardly mentioned about coherence.I agree one thing your technique will work out for a student to achieve 7.5 but not a 9 band score though.I carefully read your book..Thanks

@shahidshamss : you can choose both styles but if they asked specifically to discuss both views then you must do so.Otherwise you can follow either "inductive style = one side" or deductive style.For deductive style you need bothe views and on the 3rd body, you need to compare or refute.Besides these, you need an additional point to support your essay.So you need 2 reasons at least to get a 7.In deductive style,it is quite normal to support with 3 reasons because the refutation will indirectly.

Learn logical or explanatory writing to overcome the trouble of precise writing.Most Ielts teachers do not know how to teach IELTS, you will come to know when you ask them to explain.Or ask your tutor to do an exam just in front of you.So you will know how good he is. This is a commercialised exam for teaching grammar so these mushroom like colleges or teachers can make lot of money.

@TheSohana11 It breaks my heart to hear of students held back in their academic pursuits because of money. Regarding improving your speaking while on a budget, I would suggest you try to find some study groups in your area. There may be some at your local university. Only join the ones operating at a skill level higher than yours. To improve fluency, try downloading movie scripts and repeating them after the characters as you watch. Good luck!

@sanjeemehra It was brought to my attention a while ago that there is no penalty for essays that lack paragraph indentation. So you are free to choose whether to indent your paragraphs or not. I always recommend students indent as it is a safeguard against the possibility of an examiner mistaking your lack of indent as a connection to the preceding paragraph.

@cheryllee1984 My suggestion is to always do what is easiest and will ensure you score the maximum number of marks. Thus, when possible NEVER take a middle stance. Fully agreeing or fully disagreeing is a much easier and cleaner essay to write. Only discuss topics (via a discussion essay) when you are directly asked to by your essay question.

Your video is nice, but I've heard that we should agrue two claims, not just one. So, for this case, we should argue a Agree part, and then a Disagree part, not just Disagree.

@EnglishRyan .. hey !! greetings from pakistan. I am Aun. I got 7 bands last year. But the writing test was quite poor. I got 5.5. I have a test next month, on 8th may. And your tips are very helpful. But i am very worried. I have to score at least 6.5 in writing.
