Thanks. Yeah, it takes a lot more concentration to off road without severely damaging these things. But that's a good thing. They don't make armor for these, but nothing that some metal, welding and creativity couldn't solve.
You mean taking long trips in them? Oh yeah. I've taken several 1500 mile road trips through Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. They drive like a WRX, but have the ground clearance to do off road driving. Mine was setup to do off road, but still be very comfortable as a daily driver and long distance traveller.
@bluefox4848 i meant long travel suspension, i drive a toyota 4runner and i do rock crawling mostly, but im interested to get a subaru for the fast dezert stuff, and i was wondering if you know any people who has their subie for dezert running. dont know if fox racing, icon, kings or any other company make suspension upgrades for subies.
There are King Springs available as lifting springs. There are also a few people making 2" lifts for them, but 2 inches is the max you can go until you start to overextend your CV joints. After 2", you would have to start modifying just about everything with the drivetrain.
wheeling this take more skills than wheeling a big truck thats for sure. i wonder if they make armor for subies

Yep, been a long time. We need to video chat about the upcoming Winter Trip 2012. I'd like to Ice Climb a bit more than last year.
