This is how cancer works. Cancers are miniature AoE2 monks. They start converting your body,and if they succed you are dead,if you realise it on time,you can save yourself,but if you found out halfway,then there is small possibility that your body will survive

Those look like Hero unit monks, or their hp has been modded.

Should have used Light Cavalry, the hussar att rate is slower, even if he has X2/X3 dmg vs monks his rate is too slow, try with light cavalry the effect will be different.

It's very impressive to see monks holding off such numbers, scout cavalry or otherwise. But all you'd really need to win the day here is 50 scouts (not 500), and 15 onagers. Scouts engage, onagers torch the entire field. You're down 50 scouts (4000 food, ouch but ok), and the opponent's down 120 monks (a whopping 12,000 gold).

Of course, in a real game you're not just sending monks at me, and I'm not just sending scouts at youe. Which is what makes AOE's battles so dynamic and interesting.

Heresy will fix that RIGHT UP... (converted units die instead of joining your enemy). Both sides fully upgraded the Hussars win. Side note: Elite Cataphracts have always been and will always be superior to any other cavalry in the game, especially the *scout* cavalry called hussars

@Ucsemis 1: It isn't as easy to produce elite cataphracts however if you manage to, it means you have a buttload of castles meaning you're better defended. I almost always hit the pop limit and elite cataphracts stats, if not just for their armor and attack, are superior to paladins. They are also plenty fast for hit-and-run scenarios. On top of all this their culture-specific upgrade gives them trample damage, which is scarier than most people realize. Give me the Byzantines any day. Winning :P
