  • Ok, going to put this to rest. It's called Texas Country because no other state can support the type of music scene that Texas can. No other state can support the rich diversity that all the amazing Texas Country artists bring to the stage. This is proven by the fact that these artists flock here. As non-native Texans say, "I wasn't born here, but I got here as fast as I could."

  • @daleylaurel I agree with you on that, but not all of the bands are from Texas. Ragweed, Boland, Mike McClure, Stoney LaRue, No Justice, and a whole bunch others are from Oklahoma.

  • @daleylaurel A bit rich to call Country diverse isn't it? I mean... if you're stretching for musical diversity maybe look for somewhere that has other genres AND country. Not just country

  • @daleylaurel I agree with you. But I do have to mention that Louisiana (especially New Orleans) might disagree with this statement. That culture is drenched in history and pride. From Your neighbors to the east!

  • IDAHO PRIDE

  • your a jackwagon brester1

  • bingham is from new mexico...just sayin

  • overated? i don't get it., maybe it's just me, cuase im a stupid retard..

Tell me who I am?? "" the "unholy" Truman show will continue."" lol

    see me 24/7

  • @RetardadoPendejo YOU'RE RIGHT...YOU ARE RETARDED

  • @glenns17131

    Yeeaaaaahhhh. Im right!!!

thank you for noticing. I am happy now

  • All of the Brauns, including Willie and Cody, are definitely from Stanley, Idaho. Actually, they were homeschooled and lived way up a long dirt road in the White Cloud mountains about 20 miles from Stanley. No kidding. They still go there quite often. I used to watch then play at the outdoor pavillion in Stanley. Their house is in one of the most remote locations you can imagine, in extremely beautiful country.Anyway, not wanting to be a dick, just trying to set the record straight.Cheers.

  • @sawtoothdan Yes. They usually go every year for the Braun family reunion. But I bet you know more about it than me. Great musicians from great country.

  • Wade Bowen and Cody C. are brother-in-law.

  • @shutitup13... CO fo life is just a tag, nothing more nothing less... i thought reckless was actually from Stanley Idaho, but after looking I see Bend Oregon? regardless, good music! not a pissing contest, sorry if I offended you, it was not the intention... I just love Colorado

@ctrich... sounds right to me.. Cody talks about it on one of the live cd's...

anyway, god bless. Live life to it's fullest. remember the vets this and every weekend.

  • June 12 @ Sticky Fingers!! Who is in!!

  • its called texas country!

  • What kind of guitar is that that he is playing? It looks like the same one i have.. a Alvarez ad80ssb. Sunburst Dreadnought.. could it be? that would be AMAZING!

  • Red dirt country. It'll grab you by the throat and throw you 'gainst the wall.

  • can't wait to see these guys at larry joe taylor's

  • This is why I love music...real music not the cookie cutter crap that's on the radio!!

  • What is wrong with the general public when bands like this and his bro's band, not to mention James McMurtry, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Joe Ely, etc. can't get a song on the radio unless it's a college town. Instead we get Sugarland and rascal something with that fat girl singing... The people responsible for the absolute dumbing-down of American music deserve whatever happens to them.

  • @idridcole

that fat girl comment had me crackin up

  • It's all because of money. Very little of the Red Dirt Country music makes the mainstream airwaves. Nashville based record labels control country radio for the most part. If you don't suit the label, you don't get played. It's a back-scratching business country music. You gotta make people money and so they're gonna make you sing the songs that make money, not necessarily yours.

  • @idridcole I cant agree with you more.

  • Amazing!! Love that song! Thanks for posting!! :)

  • Such a great band. If there was ever a song that personified my home state of Idaho, I nominate this one.

  • @KRassau We are gratful they came to Austin. First time i saw them was Pearl's before it burned '96 or so. A lot of people don't realize they came to Austin from Idaho. SXSW WEEK , i am about to turn 40 and and thank God i am far away from downtown . Reckless Kelly, etc made this town..tedious.

When i them play , i knew they would be downtown very soon

  • Hey my Dawn...Wish we were on our bikes riding a wicked twistin road to a weekend escape...If you read this without me,I miss you BD...

  • I think everyone can relate to this song. Reminds me of my freshmen year of college. Lots of great memories, but man, we were dumbasses chasing after the wrong things.

  • Freakin amazing!! Plain and simple. Can't wait to see them Febuary 5th.

  • Absolutely amazing song. The Braun brothers are so full of musical talent it makes me sick

  • cant beat this song freakin love it

  • I listen to this song all the time on my bike..reminds me of a vacation I took on my bike when I was single and crazy.

  • mainstream may as well not exist...fortunately for us there is satellite radio and internet access....so guess what? we don't need need 'em....

  • Amen to that alot of the shitty music they try to shove down our throats sucks. These guys are awsome.

  • Seriously? Why aren't these guys on main stream radio?! This is by far one of the most incredible songs I have ever heard. Amazing.

  • main stream radio sucks.

  • amazing song--a lot like Yarn. Honestly I couldn't pick a favorite between the 2 groups...

  • I just wish Reckless Kelly would come to the UK. At this rate I am going to have to come over to the US to see them! I think I will . . .

  • listened to it once with lyrics. listened to it again and cried...spoke to me!!!

  • i hate to say it but this is the only song that has ever made me cry... no clue why... amazing song. Thanks to the digital age, Minnesotan's like my self have easy access to the best music in the America that is Texas Country. Hopefully one day I will be able see them live in concert

  • Man they are amazing live, i live in houston and your 100% correct we are blessed with the best music on earth..the red dirt country. I hope you get to experience that one day also man

  • love the electric mandolin

  • great job as usual!!!!

  • very good love thier music especially this one while driving

  • Wow... Getting a bit emotional here! Damn this song is powerfull. This is music people! Not the generic kind, the kind that grips and moves you. Instant fan right here.

  • yhea dude, these guys know the difference between saying something and having something to say.... no Hanah Montana here.

  • If you have the chance, see these guys live!

  • I couldnt agree more, kinda sucks for the artists cause they dont have all the riches that "pop" country does, but its great for us fans! Nothing better than a small venue show and hearing REAL country music!

  • i feel sorry for radio country fans. they'll never get to experience a little bit of Reckless Kelly and a lot of the Texas music genre. thank goodness for Texas Country!!!

  • You are so right. Some of the best country music, real country music, never gets on the radio. Its kinda good though cause groups like these are awesome in these small venues.

  • I have to be honest, this song brings tears to my eyes when i think about it too much. It makes me think of the friends I have lost over the years. Man I love these guys, CCRW, Ryan Bingham, Randy Rogers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Driveby truckers, and the whole genre... Colorado for life!

  • @bretster1

I'm pretty sure Cody Canada and the lead guy from Reckless Kelly are brother-in-laws; one married the other's sister.

  • @ctrich3 Your thinking about Wade Bowen and Cody Canada

  • @bretster1

    "Colorado for life"?

Why do you say that? Every artist you named is from some other state. CCR is from OK, Ryan Bingham and Randy Rogers are from Texas, Driveby Truckers are from GA, and Old Crow Medicine Show is from VA. Reckless Kelly is from Oregon but have been based in Texas for the last 13 or so years.

  • I saw these guys live for the first time the other night, and I'm seriously in awe 48 hours later. What a great, fun night. The guys totally rocked, and for the most part the fans were great, compared to fans of some other bands that I follow. Hopefully they'll be back in KC soon.

  • Live on XM 12. discovering Reckless Kelly was cool driving an 18 wheeler, they play the kind of honest music I look for on the radio. thx
