Well-known psych fact: right-handed people trying to REMEMBER things tend to look right (activating the left hemisphere of the brain, in charge of memorizing things) and tend to look left when LYING (activating the right brain; creativity). OP, are you left-handed? That could explain it, as your hemisphere-usage may be different from right-handed people. Not that your brain isn't all wonky even if you're right-handed, but it's less common.
