I was in the grand canyon one time, and walked down from the top to a little gorge about a mile from the actual bottom. I felt fine the whole time until I started going back up. It must have been a combination of being a smoker, being prescribed and taking a drug that dehydrated me, and going way too fast on the ascent back to the top. I've never been so nauseous in my entire life. It was VERY hot and dry, and I felt like I was going to pass out. I kept vomiting until nothing was left in my body
@RegistrationCop Fortunately I found the strength to wobble back to the top. By the time I got back I had the worst migraine headache you could ever imagine. The nausea just got worse. Plus the water I had in my pack was HOT. Talk about hard to keep down, you ever try drinking hot water when it's blazing hot out and you have altitude sickness? Not pleasurable. Next we hiked a small peak, I was fine that time because I paced myself. Thankfully I'm in great shape now, so it wouldn't be that bad.
