I wish my band could play with half their energy! We have energy, good energy in fact. But compared to MC5 we are near comatose! =D Dear Punk Rock, You're welcome. -MC5
This was from the German show, "Musikladen". They had Orange amps that everyone on the show used. Also, if you're into gear, check out the "Euro" Sennheiser mics on the amps. They're the white ones that used a four-pin "Tuchel" connector instead of the 3-pin "Cannon" or "XLR" connector that we all use today. I grew up in Lincoln Park, Michigan and these guys lived down the block. They were the real deal! Very powerful.
@smautomat I was a white panther back then so it was great getting MC5 on the tube though, living in a commune down on Warren where we had no tv left little opportunity.
@TSaxman74 Hehe, steal your girlfriend, show her what she's been missin', then send her back wet. Did it myself a couple years back to some spoiled little suburban Harvard educated cunt from the Boston area. That'll prolly be the last time though, kinda gettin' up there in years. ;~) MIDWEST IS BEST!
They must have changed between the time the 'Kick Out the Jams' album was recorded (1968), and when this was filmed (1972). According to the album liner notes, Fred Smith played a Fender Guitar, Wayne Kramer played a Moserite Guitar, and Mike Davis played a Fender Bass.
They also changed Bassists a few times after 1970.
A pity they didn't dare risk play one of the tracks from High Time. Guess they thought it was better to stick with the greatest hits at this stage. Great, but I hear a little barrel scraping going on here.
You know absolutely dick about music. These guys are in the top 100 metal songs of all times. They were to punk what Black Sabbath was to metal.
They had such a following that when Led Zeppelin went to Detroits Grande Ballroom to open for them, the crowd couldn't wait to get Zep off of the stage for the headliner...The MC5!
Exactly! This places the video in 1972. Michael Davis didn't show up in England on time to do a gig at the London School of economics and was kicked out of the band after he finally did get to England (the done kicked him out). British bassist Moorehouse played with the 5 for the rest of the tour.
Yeah... there actually are lyrics, he just doesn't sing 'em here. But these guys tore it up on guitar. So I guess Wayne Kramer can just dance and stuff, and that's okay.
Rob Tyner wasnt the best lookin fella in the world but he wore the best pants...just somethin about his pants...damn..oh yea and this bitchin song. Hehe! 5*****
Who cares how slow this is, there are faster versions on youtube but this is my favourite as it was the first version I ever saw. Saw Wayne Kramer in Camden about 10 years ago and he was awesome. KICK OUT THE JAMS MOTHERFUCKERS!

My comment is, Detroit rock and roll was not peace and love. Listen to Mitch Ryder.
It was kids of factory workers, where the machinery was pounding in their ears all day. And these guys will kick your ass and steal your girlfriend.
