@loverboy7905 yeah i have vid's up of them..i'll send u the links for them...my RS4mac is only shown in my work shop since i need a DCC/sound broad for it i can't run it just yet
@loverboy7905 lol..yeah indeed man..u are also..yeah thts cool man...oh yeah i have RS3's both are conrail..then i got 2 RSD5's...yeah some tht were order were oriningally pennsy then were transfered over to the other roads over the years...yeah my RS4Mac is based off of these chopnose RS3/RS3m units...the conversion is simular but i added AC traction to mine along with a 645 engine instead of the 567..it should be finished soon
thts an RS3m..repowered by Amtrak with an EMD 567 prime mover..i've seen this unit before..it was oringinal owned by CR and prior to tht PC...PC also repower RS3's with EMD engines...TTI had one of these units and called it a GP12..My RS4MAC is based off of this unit and others like it expect mine will have the 645 engine although i might go with a 567 instead..awsome vid!!
It was a former NYC RS3 that came to Amtrak via the Penn Central when the Northeast Corridor was conveyed to Amtrak as part of the creation of Conrail. Amtrak had a number of RS3's for work trains and switching (many were replaced in the 1980's by CF7's) but 3 soldiered on after they had been rebuilt in the New Haven Shops with 1200 hp EMD Primemovers pulled from retired E-Units. The 104 had it's nose chopped a section of the long hood raised to accomadate the slightly taller EMD Primemover.
Amtrak used it until 1996 or 97 when it first came to Cape Cod when purchased by Cape Cod RR Affiliated "Shoreline Locomotive" as it's 6055, it then was sold to Connecticut Central where it became 1201, Ct. Central was sold to Providence and Worcester where it became # 120, then it came back to Cape Cod in 2000 as Cape Cod Central # 1201 where it was dubbed "LuluBelle."
hey great shot of 104. 104 is an RS3 that was rebuilt by amtrak. The nose was lowered and an EMD motor was place on top, the loco currently works on the Cape Cod Central as engine 1201
That's just a low nose version of the high hood, yet I can't remember the name!

Yeah, I used to run that critter in the Washington Terminal. Vibrated horribly, but glad to say I at least got to run one for a while.
