  • It sucks when parents act stupid like that, My mom is impossible to talk with. You seem really cool hopefully your mom will start paying attention and notice you are a really amazing person

  • I just realized too.. when i said mothers should project their fear.. also I meant needs. Like its not a daughter's responsibility to take care of their mother's needs. Emotionally or whatever. I find all my life i've been trying to juggle my moms emotional needs and projections and it hasnt allowed me to develop my own self. Its confusing as hell. Daughters look to their moms for confirmation of who they are and when youre pushed to the side, it can be really emotionally destructive. anywhooo..

  • I'm really glad you commented.

It's interesting to hear that from other angles.

I had almost forgotten about this video.

I agree with everything you said though.

You sound like a very wise/interesting person.

  • my mom and i have a fucked up relationship but i dont think its quite the same. But i searched mother daughter relationship on here and your vid was one of the firsts to come up. Basically my mom never says sorry either. She's really cold and formal with me. Her father was a judge so yeah I guess she grew up like that.

I think the most important thing for mothers to try to do for their daughters is to pay attention to whats actually going on and not project their fear onto them...

  • I have a weird relationship with both of my parents. My mom's an alcoholic...so...we don't have your average mother daughter relationship. My parents are together, but only because they can't financially make it without each other, so...she's always telling me I shouldn't ever get married and she talks shit about my dad to me...and sometimes tells me stuff I don't really need to know about her relationship with him. Plus, when she's drunk she's pretty open.

  • She never apologizes to me either...neither does my dad actually...Hum. But, I understand where you're coming from totally. I don't think anyone has that stereotypical relationship with their parents...well..maybe some do...but hell, not me!

  • I'm sorry to hear about the alcoholism.

    That can't be fun.

I'm glad though, as wierd as this may sound, that you don't have the stereotypical relationship.

It's nice to not be alone.

  • It's not really that bad, the alcoholism...it just makes it really hard to talk to her...and have an actual conversation...it's always very one sided...

You definitely aren't alone, my dear :)
