Because originally Ali and Teddy weren't in the band and Alex, Ed and Dan did everything themselves, but Alex couldn't play the guitar, sing and play the keyboard at the same time so they needed a bassist and a keyboardist to gho not our, which is how Ali and Teddy joined the band xD
