It's always disappointing when a title says "Karate vs Muay Thai" or any other discipline, when the rules are one sided in this case it's Kyokushin rules Damm if it's a fight then have discipline vs discipline. I find it comical that the referee has to stop the fight because someone was hit in the face. The rules are based on a fighter who has always fought in a particular manner no punching to the face or elbows etc. His opponent is handicapped immediately because half his weapons cant be used

@hotpopcorncake People are even more dumb when they think Kyokushin doesn't have face punches, knees or elbows. It does have. And have Shinken shobu rules of fighting with small gloves and head punching. But anyway, taking bare knuckels to the torso is hard to do in classic Kyokushin competitions.

Before and after this fight, Andy was fighting other Karate fighters, and go straight to the final to meet Masaaki Satake. Andy Hug is a multiple world champion in Kickboxing and Muay Thai, also K-1 GP champion in 1996, and he is such a nice guy, never talking any trash, you should respect him whatsoever.

It´s not logic to compare one marcial art with another if they are not allowed to use all the tecniques that each marcial art has. If Andy Hug is such a good fighter he should fight against Buakaw but with open rules so that they can aply all they´re knowledge. I´m not saying that one art is better then the other, they are just completely different and can not be compared.
I think you have a great idea there. Let it be an open fight (meaning what every style you train in use all of your techniques) the ref will only stop the fight if one is KO'd or unable to fight and or fouls. There should only be a couple of basic rules (named and signed on by both camps before the fight). Any breaking of the rules (after two warnings money should be taken from their prize moeny). No points if one does not give up or is KO'd or DQ'd then the match is a draw.

Yes, you don't know who he is. He is a K-1 champion and he has knocked out great fighters using also his fists where it was allowed. If punches to the face were allowed, I doubt your boy Kiatsongrit would last that long. Rules are rules, Kiatsongrit lost. Deal with it. And BTW, I can't help but notice that you are a Muay Thai fanboy. Are you by any chance Thai that you can't accept some other art beating yours?

K-1 is kick boxing not muay thai also. in muay thai there also elbows and clinches. but it was a good fight. but i dont get it, if u can kick the face why can not punch? why? karate rules?

@Sniper2008009 im not even arguing, im telling you the truth. most thai fighter are under weight. buakaw fought k-1 like 10 lbs - 15 lbs less than other fighters. no martial art is the best. its just how individual use it. if fists were allow in this fight kait would put on so much combination. look at how he just using his kicks half way through. we train different.

@Sniper2008009 yes, andy hug is your favorite, hero, idol, etc... but all muay thai fighter Thais or Foreigners are all my favorites. i just love muay thai. i never insults other martial arts before, because when i was a kid i wanted to do karate myself. please dont say anything about Andy Hug would stomp every muay thai fighters..... and according to his record he only fought 1 Thai Fighter which is in this video. and how would you know? :D but anyways this one was a good fight.

TKD not Karate! Thai fighter would demolish him in a real match, where you can hit the face. Andy only throws axe kicks, which is very simple to defend by stepping into his guard and throwing him off balance.

It´s not logic to compare one marcial art with another if they are not allowed to use all the tecniques that each marcial art has. If Andy Hug is such a good fighter he should fight against Buakaw but with open rules so that they can aply all they´re knowledge. I´m not saying that one art is better then the other, they are just completely different and can not be compared.

I think you have a great idea there. Let it be an open fight (meaning what every style you train in use all of your techniques) the ref will only stop the fight if one is KO'd or unable to fight and or fouls. There should only be a couple of basic rules (named and signed on by both camps before the fight). Any breaking of the rules (after two warnings money should be taken from their prize moeny). No points if one does not give up or is KO'd or DQ'd then the match is a draw.
