The dances themselves are quite different in styles. Even though I like Maurene O'Hara more in this part, the dance in the movie with Salma is quite... suggestive I would say, very beautiful - something that could really drive a man like Frollo mad).

Even though her eyes seem to lead us to Hell, she is more, more pure than words can tell.... Disney´s version is God-awful as Hugo adaptation, though: Frollo and Phoebus were all wrong.

Maureen O'Hara was too Irish looking to be a gypsy. Salma had the right look, so did Gina, although the 1956 film version was the worst ever made IMO. Disney's was perfect. One thing all the film makers missed: Esmeralda was a street dancer, but no hooker. She was also very young: about 15-16 years old.

Yes Lollarigida looks as curvaceous as the cartoon version. That's pretty amazing since cartoons exaggerate both masculine and feminine features so much. What a beauty!
