  • Brilliant video. Never heard of this before, and you make it so easy...thanks a lot

  • porn.

  • Incredibly clear instructions. Thanks!

  • Awesome video! Brilliantly clear instructions at a wonderfully slow, managable pace! Thank you! I tend to watch instructional videos with my mouse over the pause button as people do them so fast, but this was perfect and I've got it!

  • Wow! After reading the written instructions for this method, I said to myself...What???? You have made it extremely easy to follow. Can't tell you how much it is appreciated! Thanks again.

  • @deeanza12 You're very welcome.

  • You could pick up the edge stitches of both pieces to bind them off this way, but it's probably easier to sew them.

  • @PurlQueen It' ALWAYS easier to sew seams! The point of grafting seams together is to do more than jut make them join. But while being a little more fiddly because of the increased number of needles, this method is really easy because it's the same thing as casting off normally to sew together.

  • Does this work when wanting to bind two pieces on the sides instead of the tops of the pieces?

  • Thanks so much! I was really overcomplicating it, and you simplified it beautifully!

  • @peculiargrandma Thanks everyone for the kind words.

  • Amazing! Thanks so much!

  • Thanks for the refresher!

  • thank you very much, another mystery solved!

  • @58baggie :)

  • thank you so much!! I got a new book recently and a few patterns called for this method and I was so confused! as usual, the "help" section in the back was no help at all, so I really appreciate this!!

  • Thank you, this was very helpful!

  • Thankyou so much! This was really helpful :)

  • * Oops, meant three needle bind off ;P

  • Thanks!! I just knitted a teeny-tiny bag without realizing the cast off was 2 needle, and I had no clue how to do it! :P

But it's not hard at all :)

  • GREAT video thanks, very clear and easy to understand! and thanks for using big needles its much easier to understand.

  • Thanks for all the compliments!

  • I just got a pattern where I needed to do this and I was like what in the hell? But I'm so happy you posted this easy to understand video! Thank you~

  • Great demo! I'm not good at sewing seams, so this looks like a better alternative, especially for baby hats.

  • You can use this to bind off in purl, bind off in knit, or bind off in pattern. I have videos on all three. Just use the three needle technique for each of them.

  • @planetpurl AWESOME video tute - TY so much!!

  • Does it work with Rib?

  • Thank you so much:)

  • I am from Finland and I fell in love with one pattern, but I had NO IDEA about what is this "three needle bind off"... god I love YouTube. And the kind people who upload tutorials here (:

  • LOVE the tutorial!! Very clear and your narrative is great too. I am making a hooded poncho and need the 3 needle bind off for the hood. I am working with a circular needle so I will just have to fold it in half.

Thanks again and I will make sure to visit your website and other videos :)

  • I feel like a superhero! Thanks for compliment.

  • Thank you so much for this, it has helped me to avoid sewing an item together and the result is so neat!

Please can I use your link for this method of binding off in my pattern leaflet?

    I would be very grateful.

  • I'm glad you found this helpful. This is my favorite way to join shoulder seams. Please feel free to use the link in your pattern instructions.

  • It will be so much better than me having to struggle to say what I meant!

The knitter will be in no doubt now.

    Brilliant.

    Thank you

  • Super video. The colors in this video (red yarn, light needles, purple background) are a super aid in seeing clearly the steps involved in the process. Most instructive of all the 3 needle bind off videos I have seen.

  • Thanks for the kind words. We're working on more videos all the time, so please check back when you need help.
