  • I remembered a saying-Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events and small minds discuss people. The purpose of language is to communicate and he was successful for that. So, stop about discussing about his English accent. Btw, he is a visionary legendary Nepali leader who has devoted his whole life for making changes in Nepal. 2day there are no other leaders who are as popular as him. Let him work independently and lets support him for new Nepal......Jai Nepal

  • Whoever is criticising his accent or English u should watch the videos of presidents of Korea or china or whatever, they can't even speak English. And English doesn't make u intelligent. By the way he has done the Phd. and he truly deserves the title of Dr. I think he is the only well qualified prime minister Nepal will ever see in the the politics of the modern Nepal.

  • @nomadrajendra many nepali politicians get PhD from indian Sanskrit university. example girija koirala and his gang. no wonder indian leaders follow caste system because they are educated in india. nepal need new leaders who are educated in usa, uk, europe, australia, china, jaoan not india. india is the mother of racism. invented caste system, corruption, and nepotism. i have a strong conviction that within 5-7 years time, magurali who are educated in UK will return home and run nepal.

  • @diliprai Hey u listen india have one of the best education systems in the world.IIM ahmedabad and ISB hyderabad r ranked 13 and 14 in top management colleges in world. And IIT kanpur ranks 150 in world engineering colleges. We produces largest no of engineers &doctors in world .microsoft, apple, nasa and other big organisations have 40% indian employees. And abt corruption we stands at 87 rank as compare to nepal at 146.U people r good for nothing who abuse that country which had always helped u.

  • @sourabhsh111 fuck you who said ur country has been helping nepal have you ever seen the population of illiterate people in ur country look at ur minister lalu prasad yadav funny guy its 100% corruption , poverty of ur country?America helps ur country financlially and ur country talks shit about america at their back, social crimes in ur street around 1000 of complaints everyday like domestic voilence ,rape, drugs, robbery,n lot more so first look at ur country and talk about our country u moron.

  • @MrNarutokai u asshole nepali r sucking dicks of indians everywhere, just come and see we people gives jobs to ur citizen.I myself know atleast 10 people from katmandu who works in delhi. And who is talking abt domestic voilence ,rape, drugs, robbery.ur own country tops in all these things in subcontinent.Fuck u dirty nepali

  • @sourabhsh111 i support your debate against MrNarutokai. MrNarutokai is moron who think that there's nothing wrong with nepal.

  • @diliprai Go and argue with him and tell this jackass that india is far more richer and developed than nepal. And is supporting nepal from last 65yrs.

  • @sourabhsh111 i wouldn't mind having trading for indian citizenship. in fact i am ready to marry Indian girl and migrate into india. we have so many problems in nepal like caste discrimination, racial discrimination and sex discrimination. nepal also have problems from corruption. in fact corruption is killing the development of nepal. i know india has done a superb job in controlling corruption.

  • @diliprai Glad to know that I also want to visit nepal for visiting bhagwan pashupatinath templeccan u tell me which route should i follow to visit it if i'm in patna right now.

  • @sourabhsh111 my friend take the taxi. tell the driver pashupathinath temple and he will take you over there. pashupathinath temple is the oldest temple in nepal and this temple has origin way way back to kirat era(800 BC - 330 AD). in fact lord shiva was a kirat god and he was among with kirat people. he often came down to this place(now pashupathinath area) and mingle with kirat people.

  • @diliprai oe jatha thukka nepali bhayara nepal ko beijat garchas nepal ma dherai problem chha tara payla aafno sochai badal kehi gar nepal ko lagi aafno desh aafai bana dusman ko agadi aafno dharti aama ko izzat na phal testai india ma janu maan chha bhanay ja ni kaslay rokay ko chha talai ma pani kirat nai ho tara euta sachha nepali jaslay mato ko izzat garchha mato ko lagi marchha ani marchha bhujis

  • @sourabhsh111 hey dick head have u ever seen poor indians working here in kathmandu bloody slums indians here in kathmandu are good at clearing the rubbish from our street they even collect the empty bottles from every doors fuck i feel so sorry for indians have u seen ur history indians were the slave of british n they could do nothing at last india had to ask nepal and china to save indai from british fuck u indians can not even protect their motherland fuck off u loosers.

  • @MrNarutokai Nepal is a nation that supplies prostitutes to india, maybe ur mother or ur sister had worked in brothels of delhi, mumbai or kolkata thats why u r barking abt india.Listen u son of a poor prostitute we r more superior than u dickheads. We will nuke ur dirty country if u will again bark abt us.

  • @sourabhsh111 I KNOW UR MOTHER was a prostitute n u have been searching for ur dad poor u i m so sorry fo u how many customer does ur sis serve in a day n even if she is not a prostitute she must have been used by many indian guys coz they dont have any respect fo a girl whose mom is a prostitute.n u will nuke our country fuck off india could do nothing to pakistan bangladesh srilanka n u talk shit about nepal u loosers pakistan will destroy u 1st n we dont deal with loosers get a life dickhead

  • @nomadrajendra i am sure Dr. baburam bhattrai is gonna change nepal for better. if not then i am sure within 5 years from now on, magurali will start entering in nepali politics and government works. many magurali are educated in uk colleges, universities, many earning PhD as well. magurali engagement in nepali politics is the key to nepal survival. even lawmakers from UK has urged magurali communities to contribute in nepal building.

  • Dr. Baburam Bhattrai is the living legend of nepal. He is the most generous and the publicly accepted prime minister of nepal.and the way he gives speeches are the best things about him .ALL THE BEST FOR HIS FUTURE DAYS...

  • great politician, too bad he's from the stinking maoist party

  • Comment removed

  • I see some positive than others the way he was bold enough to speak many truths of Nepal. I welcome this.

  • I think through this speech Dr. Bhattarai has tried to send a message to the world community that Nepal will no longer be obscured within its internal problems and wants more responsibility in shaping the future of the world. It is true that the UN could be much more effective in representing the poor and marginalized states. We are a unique country and there are many things that the world can learn from the land of peace (and ironically a successfully concluded people's war).

  • DUDE WHY ARE YOU DISCUSSING ABOUT WHETHER THEY UNDERSTAND HIS ACCENT OR NOT??????? MAIN THING IS IF THEY ARE INTERESTED THEY WILL GET TRANSLATOR TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WAS SAYIN... OVERALL I THINK THATS NORMAL.. MAY BE PATHETIC PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WAS SAYING.........

  • I just can't understand why these politicians can't speak in Nepali and have the translator translate it. I think it's because there is an unspoken, absurd acceptance in Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Nepali society that being able to speak English is prestigious and that they are respected and are considered refined and educated. I think this phenomenon started from the British Raj days when only those educated were respected and they all could speak english.

  • @2011svn absolutely agree wid u!he seriously needs a translator

  • nice hat.

  • It's very normal to see Indian English being subtitled into proper English in TV interviews, which is done in order to make it understandable to wider audience or to the people who've never heard Indian English.

If you are used to the mainstream American English, and suddenly got thrown into the middle of Texans debating over something, you'll freak out.

    This was a good speech.

Nothing matters more than what he actually does back home.

We've seen countless prime ministers and politicians.

  • Accent is nothing to complain about.

  • about how Mr. Bhattarai is going to bring reforms and developmental strategics in Nepal than criticize his English. You mentioned those Canadians who asked you about the translators. Will those Canadians be able to speak as good Nepali as Mr. Bhattaria spoke English? And the answer is No. Wake up and smell the coffee dude. English is not everything. I know a lot of people who speak good English and just show off but in reality accomplish nothing. So, Mr. you need to get your facts right.

  • @jaygurung r u living in a fantasy world?where ve i mentioned that english is very important.dont put words in my mouth.i am just sayin he needs a translator.. dats it.. end of da story. no where have i mentioned dat english is important or anything.he needs a translator so dat the international community understands what he says!n dere is nothin wrond wid dat.with respect 2 dose canadians.dey may not understand nepali. but dey r pretty fluent in French(official lang here)its not bout language!!

  • @TheAstitwa Did u have hard time understanding Mr. Bhattarai? Don't state about foreign people (Canadians) not being able to understand him. And another thing, about the accent. Most New Yorkers have hard time understanding southern accent. Does that mean people from down south need to bring a translator with them when they come to North? One more thing, Australian English is very difficult to understand. Does that also mean that Australians should bring a translator with them when they

  • @jaygurung wat bout da international audience?had he given the same speech in Nepal it wouldnt ve been a problem.who on earth said australian english is difficult 2 understand. dis is not high school debating. wat r u sayin?do u ve a difficulty understanding gillard's speech dis isnt bout winning or losing.do u know sarkozy understands english. but always has a translator by his syd.he was in new york adressing foreign delegates!common!dere is nothin 2 be ashamed of.english isnt our 1st lang.!

  • @TheAstitwa Everyone is different. Some leaders might chose to have a translator with them and some might not. But I don't think it is necessary for our PM to have a translator. I understand English is our 2nd language and nobody is ashamed of it. We should be happy that we are able to converse this proficiently in our second language. The bottom line is I care more about my country and its future than PM's accent. One more thing, just give Mr. Bhattarai a break.

  • @jaygurung :D :D.hope mr.bhattarai does well! by the way do u work for the government or sumthin??

  • @TheAstitwa No. I am just a college student. Politics is not really my thing but once in a while I like to get involved and express my opinions but it seems like you have a lot of knowledge about Nepali politics. Have you been involved in it in any way????? Bottom line is; I think all Nepalese want to see some positive change in our country. Our eyes are tired of seeing same political drama over and over again.

  • @jaygurung oh no i m not involved in politics!bottom line. hope nepal does well

  • @TheAstitwa all nepalis must now engage in politics or at least take interest in it. nepal fail as a nation because nepalis did not care about how nepali leaders, politicians were doing corruption and stealing people's money.

  • @jaygurung let's give him 4-5 years to develop nepal. if baburam and his govt. cannot reform nepali society for better, then i have a vision that kiratis will demand separate nation. kiratis will build kirat pradesh and leave nepal to rot in filth and corruption. nepal could not be develop because of corruption, mismanagement and nepotism. so let's give baburam to change nepal for better.

  • @diliprai

    bhag muji

  • @TheChillytown sorry son an educated individual will never use "muji" word. no wonder nepal fail because nepalis use this kind of "muji" word as many nepalis are taught by teachers educated in india.

  • @diliprai

    bhag muji bhag

  • Nepal second most corrupt country in SAARC according to TI

Transparency International (TI), the global coalition against corruption, has ranked Nepal in 154th position out of 183 countries surveyed in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2011, making it one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

As for the SAARC region, Nepal is the 2nd corrupt nation after Afghanistan which is the most corrupt nation in South Asia

    Source: Nepalnews, Dec 01, 2011

Good job Nepal, Good job Nepalese.

  • @diliprai : fuck you traitor

  • @Gunjan181 but i agree with diliprai. we all nepalese should feel ashamed because nepal is listed as one of the most corrupted on earth. this means that all Nepalese are corrupted because of few corrupted nepali politician and nepali government officials.

  • @diliprai abo yo kura ma solti k bhannu ta ek choti youtube ko yo comment page ma nepali mai reply gar ta solti i m 100% sure ta jattho nepali haina salay dhoti ko challa muji jattha

  • @MrNarutokai yes but nepal is already part of india CULTURALLY. whatever culture you sees in nepal, 90% are indian based culture like hindi movies, hindi songs.

and remember nepali leaders do not work for NEPALESE but for Indian government. nepali leaders do not listen to people of Nepal but leaders of India.

there are 2 ways Nepal can save itself.

    -1. be part of India

    -2. be part of China

  • @diliprai fuck off u bloody indian stop acting that ur from nepal n change ur fucking name u gay motherfucker.didnt ur parents give u any name u fucking gay dickhead indian stop using that name again motherfucker.

  • @diliprai nepal does not need to be a part of india or china u dickhead ur country (india) was ruled by british and indians including u motherfucker was their slaves who could do nothing to save it. we can die for nepal or kill motherfucker like you who talks shit about it.u might not feel proud of ur country india or ur ancient history coz ur history tells u were slave for thousand of years but nepal ancient history tells us we were a true warrior n we still have the same blood running.

  • who the fuck are to judge what nepal should do . nepal only needs good PM with good vision to utilise the resources what we have to remain ahead of slave india and china .

  • @diliprai ani muji talai ta k bhannu o solti kaylay india is great bhanchas kaylay its corrupt bhanchas kaylay indian kt bihay garchoo bhanchas kaylay indian prostitute bhanchas ta marda nai hos ni solti kati kura change garchastero naam sunda sunda wakka lagi sakyo hami kirat pani nepali ho ni solti kina ta chai nepali nai haina jasto garchas toilay hamro kirat ko maan saaman ma daag lagais hai solti

  • @TheAstitwa come to the U.S? It is funny how you emphasize translator over and over again. Look at the bright side, Mr. Bhattarai speaks better English than most of the political leaders in Nepal.

  • @jaygurung n its really funny hw u don't believe one simple thing.He really needs 1.. common..accept it..not a big deal man..

  • Hi Astitwa, I understand the importance of speaking good English. But in this time of globalization we meet people from all around the world and we all have our own accent. That is our identity. I thought Mr. Bhattarai was clear and to the point. However, I also acknowledge that he had difficult times pronouncing some words but how often Nepali PM gives a speech to the international community? I thought it was brave of him to give a speech in English. I think at this point we should care more

  • Good speech. Thank you for saying climate change is happening and causing problem....

  • I am too hoping from him than any other in the past. When I heard that he used just an economy class plane fare to fly to New York, that is a great challenge to those hungry ghosts who robbed every thing from the people. We need this and must be applied everywhere.

  • Transformation, Appealing for developing means asking for more donation from the UN,,, Listen carefully what he is asking for ,he is asking for Donation !!! thanks for uploading this site where Nepalese minister is asking for Donation. OUR HERO ASKING FOR DONATION FROM UN ,GREAT!!! something we Nepalese to be proud of..LOL

  • That is pure Nepalese accent which i am proud of just like how my parents speak English now n was educated in Nepal in the 60's ((primary level then use to teach English from year one in public school n now they tech English only from year 4) )when Nepalese teacher's did not have Indian accent then .

  • @sandthinker try going abroad.and i bet u ll need a translator.lol

  • grate Speech........you are our true hero

  • It was nice speech but as he says if he implements in the country and have more opportunity to all youngster more job no corruption peaceful on the country should be great all the best Dr. Bhattarai and to all the Nepalese people in the country or have abroad as like me.

  • First i wud like to say..."i m proud to b a nepali. Dr. Baburam is a gud person wid modern vision for development of the country. He is trying his best for the development of our country. so we should appreciate that thing and should not comment on his accent in english.

  • Yea ., that was fantastic, the way he introduced ,i really really feel sorry for the people who said they dont like his english.remember who u r rather then where you are. We all nepalese gotta give him support and co operation ., HE CAN DO IT,.,.

  • @kickzass101 WHY U GUYS ARE AFTER THE SPEAKING CAPACITY OF PRIME MINISTER.HE SPOKE GOOD,BETTER THAN OTHER AND MOST EDUCATED PERSON OF NEPAL,,,COZ HE GOT MOST OF HIS EDUCATION IN INDIA.THOUGH IM NEPALI BUT I DONT LIKE THE SYSTEM OF EDUCATION IN NEPAL,ITS TOTALLY COMMERCIAL BUT THE STUDENTS DOES NOT HAVE A GOOD BRAIN AS OF INDIAN STUDENT.

  • I personally think Mr. Bhattarai gave a good speech. But I have a little constructive criticism form him. If you can bring reforms like you said in the speech and if you can be a strong leader then I indeed think that our country will see a bright future. But easy said than done. We will see in the days ahead how you will perform? You have a great challenge ahead. Good luck.

  • Ritesh and Astitwa, Let me just tell you guy that better English doesn't mean you are smarter or more intelligent than others. English is just a language. Your intellectual has nothing to do with your accent. Let me give you an example. Gandhi is one of the greatest heroes of all time. But his English wasn't perfect. It's not the English that made him a hero. I admit that comparing Baburam with Ghandhi is like comparing sun and moon but hey, you have to give Mr. Bhattarai the benefit of doubt.

  • @jaygurung dear jaygurung, no where have i mentioned that english makes u smarter or anything. It is very difficult for foreigners to understand Nepali accent.I am not joking,i was with a bunch of canadians and they did not understand a single thing the PM was saying.and they asked me a simple question. Can he not get a translator?n -get ur facts right Gandhi was a barrister. a very rich guy.he even went to uk for education.(his english was pretty fluent.)gandhi has nothin 2 do wid baburam.

  • PM speech is very clear and simple ....I agreed with Mr Ritesh comment....

  • Excellent address, made me a proud Nepali. Covered all sides of our issues, concerns including the global peace and poverty. Hope his clear vision will brings the people's constitution and long lasting peace in Nepal.

  • Dr. Bhattarai have presented himself with much confidence! He have focused almost every vital aspects! We have high hope on you....Dr. Baburam. We will always give our full support to the good leaders so, Please keep up the good works!!!

  • @ritesh get over with his english skills and focus more on what he is expressing. He went over there to address the issues not to show how well he can speak english

  • need to improve english mt prime minister

  • @MrNarutokai : He is speaking good English, regardless of whichever accent. President Hu JinTao of super power PR of China doesn't speak this clear. He is not native to speak some prominent accent. So stop pulling legs and stand for the unity and development of Nepal.

  • @xironimoh Mr narutoki just said a simple thing to" improve english" .whats wrong in that?u ve mentioned about hu jintao. Don't forget, he carries a translator with him.get ur facts right.

  • @TheAstitwa: The script he narrated was written by a prominent writer so you actually can't claim to improve English in that part. While for spoken, you don't expect a 57-year-old guy to take English speaking class to improve his accents, do you? Frankly you can't teach an old dog new tricks. The concern is the reform plan that he narrated (not worked out yet). We just hope he works out what he's spoken. We weren't talking about translator n Mr Hu does his own speech; not thru translator!

  • @xironimoh i have no problems with the speech.it wasnt bad.i am just saying he could speak in nepali!it would have been understandable to every1(wid a translator).n Hu jintao doesn't do his own speech. he has an entire board which decides what to speak and what not!

  • @TheAstitwa: Well i understand your concern but at least he made an endeavor to make a public speech in English in front of that level of delegation. When I said President Hu does his own speech, I meant he does it in English than a translator. Ofcourse, even President Obama doesn't do his own speech. I guess quite a lot of people have that much idea that they are the spokesperson for the country and their speech is written, QE'ed and finalized by a specialized member of board.

  • @xironimoh :D..leavin crious stuff did u get ur youtube name after osama's operation geronimo? lol or was it da same b4??if u don mind answerin it

  • @TheAstitwa sorry didn't see it until this date. Xironimoh had been my nick since 1996 including mail accounts, FB and anything u may imagine. FYI, geronimo is king in Mexican native language.

  • @xironimoh he is a maoist. nepal will get nowhere until the return of nepali congress.

  • @MrNarutokai lol you need to get a lesson on spelling mt.

  • @MrNarutokai His grammatically correct. You want him to fake his accent like you do? Have you heard the Chinese President, Indian Prime Minister, and the Japanese Prime Minister ? He is doing fine.

  • Good Luck Mr. PM Bhattarai with your determination and a way to develop Nepal. I really appreciate your speech and policies you addressed to UN Assembly. Just like all Nepalese, I have a big hope that you will definitely reach your goal. I am with you to build our Great Nation, Nepal!!. Thank you

  • Ritesh and Astitva: Your senseless and baseless hate-mongering is only making you look ridiculous. If you dont have a taste for academic arguments, the best thing is to keep your mouth shut. Let the arguments do the talking, not the abuses. No wonder Nepalis are little known for their academic arguments and contributions., people like you give Nepalis a pseudo-intellectual and cynical image incapable of tolerating or counter arguing vision that do not 'make sense' to your rabid mind.

  • @Refugeeintown Dear Mr.Refugee-I have a valid point.I am open to your suggestions, but where am i wrong??i just said he needs to take lessons in english. What's the harm in that?he should get a a translator with him.I was with a bunch of Canadians when i listened to the speech and believe it or not they didn't understand anything what he was saying. He can and he should have given the speech in his native language like tons of other leaders.look at angela merkel,hu jintao. They all ve translators!

  • Someone should give him lessons in english!nepali haru ko nam kharab garchha!

  • Someone should give him lessons in english!nepali haru ko nam kharab garchha!

  • I really don't care what our Nepal's past was! I am too tired of talking about one another's history and judging according to that! Now, for the real development and forward moving, let's support the right idea "not person or group", "the right idea"!! Yea, "the right idea" And, this time, I think whatever Baburam acknowledged, was the best about however one could explain the true situation of Nepal in the face of the world! Go Baburam! It's time for a good change!

  • @riteshml I don't understand why we like to compare with THE US just for a moment think about all the other leaders of our country and try to appreciate what he is doing unlike all the old bullshitter..Peace

  • @riteshml really?

  • Mr priminister seems to have good insights into the causes of poverty and their solution. Hope he implements his wonderful ideas to solve Nepals problems. He was asking the US as to how one could explain the huge amount of mony spent in war whereas more than half the world population is affected by poverty of one or other types where as he himself comes from a party that lead a 13yrs of internal conflict that turned Nepal form a poor to a poorest country.. could he explain that????
