  • "i got both my arms i got both my legs" anyone else feel like he's singin there?

  • Makes a lot of sense

  • jesus...even as a cripple he is a hot son of a bitch!

  • "thank you babe" "well, he is paying you don't have to look at him"

  • I plan to make my voice as deep as Tom's. Have a part time blues/jazz singing job; and be an absolute beast.

  • @R1DDL3RS I'm not sure if anyone can make that voice...apart from Tom.

  • I saw this movie for the first time a few days ago. At 0:09 I thought "That dude in the wheelchair looks like Tom Waits." And at 0:31: "It IS Tom Waits!" He`s in quite a few movies isn`t he? I remember seeing him in Rumble Fish a while ago. He plays a wacky bartender.

  • Outstanding simply outstanding.

  • Tom's also great in "Dr. Parnuss" as the Devil. Another great Terry Gilliam film.

  • @MadScout Don't forget: Tom was the engineer in The Book of Eli, too.

  • @MrJeaye: Oh, yeah. Thanks for reminding me, man.

  • I love this - one of my favourite people in one of my favourite movies - right up there with coffee & cigarettes...

  • cool

  • Brilliant!

  • The thing is, with Tom, you can't be sure if what he's saying here is something Gilliam wrote for him - or if it's just another one of Tom's fabulous stories.

  • Two of my favorite artists in one scene = beautiful!

  • jeff bridges sans goatee/moustache????

  • That was Tom Waits, Jeff Bridges, and Robin Williams?

  • @TheSkizz89 That's right

  • @TheSkizz89 ooohhh haw yuong you are??? jajaja

  • @TheSkizz89 yes

  • They should have nominated Tom Waits for his performance as Satan in Terry Gilliam's latest film, "Dr. Parnassus". What an epic job.

  • he's paying so he don't have to work..

this is the essence of liberalism-

do - Gooders who force others to be taxed so their own guilty will be eased - Forced taxation is not charity -communism is not charity - socialism is tyranny -

  • @rentatrip1

Unless you find of another way for a government to sustain itself financially without the need for taxation and tell your representative about it, just pay the 18% of your paycheck you owe the government and shut the hell up. Conservatives are just so greedy nowadays.

  • @rentatrip1

Actually the line is 'He's paying so he don't have to look'.

  • Got caught pissin on a bookstore.

  • Tom Waits should have replaced Robin Williams.

  • The best part of the whole movie. It's like two minutes in the presence of a crocodile Jesus.

  • @ShovelDuct Don't you mean 'Chocolate Jesus'? lol

  • I just watched this movie today and I said as soon as I saw this that that was Tom, but when I looked on the credits his name wasnt there, any knowledge from anyone on this ?

  • The Fisher King has to be one of the best movies I've ever seen.

And Tom Waits is THE man. No other, just Tom.

  • they seem to have taken the video for"in the nieghborhood" of youtube,i used to play that most days.Could somebody upload it please?/or tell which l.p it is on.

  • boi boi boi

  • Woooo Tom Waits kicks ass he is THE man

  • First heard Tom Waits when he did VH1 Storytellers...I was flipping through the channels bored as hell when I, for some unknown reason, stopped on this music channel. First I thought it was a joke (a SNL skit - I was waiting for Chris Farely to jump out & dance from behind the piano - I heard the voice, laughed as if it was that one shitty Crash Test Dummies "mmmmmmm" song, and just flipped on).

  • As I kept surfing I came back to the same channel and this time I left it on as he was in the middle of a story (I couldn't help but be completely interested in what was being said - laughing at his emphasized pauses and demeanor for story effect even though I missed the first half of the story and had no reference to the point). Suddenly, he played the piano keys all the while still talking.

  • I remember feeling an odd sadness creep on me as the hairs on the arms stood up and the eyes filled with tears (first time I ever heard music like that)...As I researched him and found he was the same character I've seen many times in Bram Stoker's "Dracula" I was hooked - been a fan ever since.

  • I really know what you mean. He's got this way about him that can do the most amazing things to you....I wonder if you've ever heard "Broken Bicycles." Just a one-time thing that he played and sang live. Oh my GOD!!

  • No I haven't...I'll try and locate it though

  • If you have a clip, please help me out...I don't know about you but I really liked his older albums better (Closing Time, Heart of Saturday Night, Blue Valentine) yet can't stop listening to "Real Gone", that was damn near a masterpiece.

  • Mule Variations - impossible to forget

  • Tom Waits is the SHIT.
