@WilliamOKJones Don Gibson wrote and recorded it in 1956, Faron Young recorded it in 1960. Patsy Cline recorded it in February of 1963, two months before her untimely death on March 5th. It became a big crossover hit for Patsy, making it to #5 on the Country charts and to #44 on the pop music charts. It has been recorded many times since 1963. Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt.
Yesterday (09-08-2010) my wife and I saw Jerry Lee perform on TV. At the age of 75; Jerry slurs a little when he talks; but when he plays that piano and sings; MAN OH MAN; he's still got it!! THANKS for Post.
@onebaud :First thing you need to do is learn to Read English. I stated Jerry Lee was 75 (not me) and Jerry Lee still has it. I paid Jerry Lee a compliment.
If only the dude hadn't married his 13 year-old cousin. He could have taken the crown for from Elvis while he was serving in Germany. History may have been very different. Jerry Lee Lewis will always be at the top of the Country/Rock food chain. It's so nice to hear a man sing this particular song.
Thank you so much for this JERRYLEERULES - you are the greatest for keeping the killers music alive!!! Is it possible to get the photos you have on this with Mr. Jerry and Ms. Myra emailed to me? I would like to give them to Phoebe (their daughter). You can contact me at mark77301@yahoo.com.
I think Jerry-Lee really excells at country music. He is brilliant at rock-&-roll but country was to me, an unexpected surprise when I heard him perform it. He is simply a truly fantastic singer ... excellent ... :o)
What can you say about Jerry Lee - he'd make the devil cry. It's good to hear that Gene Vincent is also a hero of yours. He's one of mine too! I just wish he'd receive more recognition for his outstanding contribution to rock'n'roll.
Sweet Happy B-day, Jerry Lee. 29 Sep 2011, 76yrs. young!

@jkalin196511 Thanks! I love to sing this number that you don't hear sung very often by male vocalists. Also Redneck Woman.
