My department each box alarm brings (4) engines, (2) trucks, and squad for rit.

first alarm is 3 engines, 2 trucks, and a batt. chief. 2 alarm is calling another 2 engines, another truck, and another batt.. ny has a diff. alarm system than most cities, so a 5 alarm there could be a 20 alarm in other cities. 9/11 was the equivelant of a 20-25 alarm response.

in henderson fire dept, a first alarm is 4 engines, a truck and two rescues, and two bettalion chiefs, and a second alarm is 3 engines, a truck, and a heavy rescue

No 1 alarm can be anything from 1 to 2 Apparatus' (Trucks are ladder companies Engines are pumpers) 2 alarm 3 to 4 3rd alarm would be 5-8 and a 5th one would be about 20-30 depending on the situation

1st alarm is 3 engines and 2 trucks. 2nd alarm is another three engines and two trucks and so on. when the first alarm companies confirm it is a working fire, dispatch will assign rescue,squad, and one more engine

LOL...Yonn i guess you have no idea.... You go in and fight the fire on the inside and push the fire out. If you put water on the fire outside you will push all the heat smoke and crap back inside on your guys...not a good idea.

They fight fires from the inside, then out. they do that so people are rescued first. If they just started spraying everywhere then people would still be trapped inside.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn,now living outside Detroit,Michigan. I lived on Rogers Ave between Foster and Newkirk down the street from Eng 255 and Ld 157. I hung out at the fire house for years and have many great memories,thanks for posting these vids and showing my old neighborhood.
