i applaud women strong enough to give birth naturally but there is NO way in hell i am going to push a baby out of my vagina and feel every minute of it no thank you give me pain meds.
@valleygurl120 Shows what you know about giving birth. Even having an epidural, you feel the same amount of pain as you would giving birth without it, when it comes time to push.
@synnocide I believe you are mistaken. If you experienced that then I am pretty sure your epidural wore off, or came out. (I know they sometimes slip out.)
@valleygurl120 - you are strong enough. every woman is. it really, really is not the worst thing ever. especially if you are at home in a peaceful environment. plus, pain meds can affect the baby and they also up your risk of a c-section by a lot. here is a great article on it:
@lucvaudar: You don't understand what I'm saying. I didn't say that you thought it wasn't beautiful. But why did you even watch it if you thought it was inappropriate?
In the hispanic culture (which I brought up because the film is in a different language...) they are family-oriented and a lot more accepting of natural events such as this. SO, this doesn't seem inappropriate for the country that it was made for, I'm sure. That was my point.
We had an amazing home-birth. Midwife: a.k.a "specialized in birth"! My midwife had 6 years of midwifery education at a state accredited school & 13 continuous yrs as midwife, studied nothing but pregnancy & the birth process, is trained to spot "abnormal" pregnancies - which is only about 5% of all expecting moms, although hospitals would have you think otherwise. They refer all high-risk moms to doctors. If the preg. is "normal" (about 95% of women) it's perfectly safe to have a baby at home!
@ImALiterate The clip is beautiful, i dont thnk its appropriate for a commercial... I didnt say anything about hispanics and big families I dont see what that has to do with my comment??????? lol
@butagaris Wow, it's ignorant comments like this that make me SO thankful to live in a place where I have the freedom to educate myself and birth my baby in the place of my choosing.
People like you are just ignorant and misinformed. I feel sorry for you.

This is very gross. And why do they allow that little boy to look at his mum's vagina. That is bad parenting. They shouldn't have kids and they should put up the ones they have for adoption.
Beautiful! I think the only thing that might possibly beat having your baby in your own home on your own bed (Flex or not) would be own home, own birth pool! Nice to see an ad normalising the homebirth possibility.
i left a comment ages ago about my girlfriend how she had a baby in some randoms drive way well anyway she had another baby a baby boy and i was there
On the twin mattress that I birthed my daughter on, my husband took a marker, made a big "X" on the spot where she was born and wrote "EVZ was born here, Jan 1, 2009, 7 lbs 7 oz". It's so special to me and a great memory! When she's old enought that'll be her bed in her room.
@czimpfe1 lmaoo after like an hr of just clikcing vids i end up on this hahaha i read ur comment saying wtf this bitch is sick in her head thats discustingg ???
When my girlfriend was in labour she gave birth on some randoms driveway because we went for a walk around the block it was so awful how everyone kept pushing me away so i never really got to see me child be born
What I love about this is how they show a sidelying birth, research tells us that in this position women have the least amount of tearing to their perineum, compared to women birthing in the American Traditional Laying on your back position. Thank you for sharing your birth with the world!
@birthdanceyoga You are correct. Research indicates the other position creates a need for interventions and/or surgery. I think you can figure out why women on this continent receive little encouragement for birthing side laying in a hospital.
No. You put a lining on it. There are different kinds of linings. One kind is a plastic fitted sheet, another is a plastic bag-like thing that you put the mattress in and zip up so that the whole thing is covered. And there are others but this comment is getting long.
Fantastic!!! What a beautiful expression of almost 2 minutes worth of time! My boys loved it and they're 7 & 4! But then again, they know all about this loving and nurturing way to give birth! Oh yeah, I'd buy that bed too!
Fantastic Ad. Our two were born at home - not in a Flex bed - but in our bed. So wonderful to see that in some places in the world birth is given the reverence it deserves.
Makes me want to start over having babies.......mine were all born in hospitals in the 1970s - "natural" childbirth, but in unnatural surroundings. SIGH. I can just see such an ad played in the US. Not.
Just beautiful. Beautiful. And so true. Sometimes I look at the spot in my home where my son was born and think how amazing it is that he entered the world right there.
@saltphoenix If you have a Facebook page, you could share it and as a comment say "Freedom of choice isn't just about abortion, it should also be about the freedom to birth where and how a woman wants to."

Not to ruin the magic, but wouldn't you have to throw the mattress out after you gave birth on it?
hinder90 2 years ago
When you are planning a home birth, you cover your mattress with a fitted plastic sheet and then, a cotton sheet over that.
Then you use disposable Chux pads (sterile paper with a blue waterproof back). No muss, no fuss.
A beautiful experience and a clean bed!
swlieb 2 years ago 6
@swlieb Or you can use a shower curtain and an old set of sheets.
