  • do crew chiefs man the rear gun?

  • Yes.

  • GET SOME :-D

  • Ha i took this vid!

  • @stark6177 You wish

  • @GoldJakeTV

There is really no way of telling who was acutually behind the camera here so i can not prove that it was me without a picture of me in the video but i assure you that if you know the guy in the video (price) he would be able to tell you that he was the first gunner with martinez finishing the day off. The most memorible part of the day was not the shooting but was martinez almost barfing on the combat camera guy that was standing in the fuel pits with us!

  • The ramp mount has lateral limitations built into the system. It also has built in buffer springs to eliminate recoil to the gunner, this is why it's such an accurate weapon. The XM-218 on the other hand has a lot of recoil so they're developing a GAU-21 mount system for the windows also. At this time we're just waiting to install them on the D's. Rangel.. haha..

  • German Army Aviation CH-53 G and GS models. We use ´em on the ramp and in door and window application. The development for the ramp was primarily done by the engineers in cherry point and pax river. So even we Germans have CH-53 E engravings on the type plates of the ramp pintle head. Development for the door and window mounts was done by German Army in cooperation with the outstanding guys in cherry point. So we´re a little ahead of you.

    This thing rocks.

  • We have the GAU-21's installed on a few aircraft over in PAX currently but the problem is visibility around the GAU mount, it's nearly impossible for the crew to stick their heads out of the aircraft to "call the pilot down" in dusty landing conditions. There is some drawbacks and honestly I don't know how much this will help the platform, more drama if you ask me.

  • We don´t call ´em down from door or window. We do it by lying on the ramp (flight direction RIGHT SIDE) and peeking under the A/C to see the ldg gears. Three down, two down, one down, Left contact, right contact, nose contact. This works even good in dusty afghanistan landings, but of course sometimes, when the dust roll overtakes the A/C and you loose contact it ends in GO AROUND GO AROUND.

  • what if he accidentally shoots the ramp wire

  • Wire only works as a down stop when the ramp gun is mounted. It doesn't hold the ramp up and you cant shoot it anyway, the stops wont let you

  • @19sideshow75 sounds good thanks

  • i want this on my balcony

  • gotta love the shadow weapons range!!!!!! sounds like someone gave her a few twists on the ole rate firing adjustment plug lol

  • is the mg3 better?

  • i sont really know, but the mg3 has .308 minchester while the m3m/gau21 uses .50 caliber rounds, so you cannot really compare them. btw the german army will fit their CH53 with m3m so i think they are more suitable for using in helicopters.

  • They are shooting at old Iraqi army vehicles in a practice range in central Iraq. Near Al Asad.

  • the gau21 shoots 1025 (-+) 75 rounds a minute down range. tradition .50cal style with one barrel but added recoil springs both on the gun and the mount to improve fire rate.. its a badass gun

  • the GAU-21 IS a fifty.

  • looked pretty good as far as hitting the target after the first burst. Longer range than the 50's?

  • mosquitos

  • what are they shooting at?

  • the using Prisoners as target practice. noooo... but they should
