Review Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

i bought this mascara a month ago, not the volumizing kind, just the lengthening. i already got long, thick lashes but i wanted it longer to look more dramatic because volumizing lashes often make them look too thick, so i just wanted a lengthening mascara. i was quite disappointed, it clumped a lot and wasn't really lengthening at all.

thats what i think my lashes are already long enough i want fuller lashes but i cant seem to find a good mascara that adds a lot of volume. Any ideas anybody?

It does smell weird! I didn't like this mascara, It personally made my lashes all gross looking and ...spider leg looking?? haha. Nice review though.

i like this for length. You know when you close your eyes, this one shows the length because it is a fanning out mascara with a slightly curved tube. I am only going to get curved tubes from now on. I am going to get sexy curves. You really need to try the voluminous one in waterproof. It is the only one that does not smudge on me

I love the waterproof version of this, it's fantastic but the regular one is awful. My eyelashes naturally go 'down' so I have to curl them. This mascara made my eyelashes sink down (after I applied my eyeliner & such which pissed me off). It's far too watery. Not very happy with that one.

i like a masscara that can lift my lashes is easy . good volume and easy . but i dont want really wet ones . i like it sort of thick formula . with a seperating brush . i dont think this is it . i have tried this and i didnt see anything good with it . i was scepticle . so i let my friend grace try it and it was the same for her . so if it were me i would never use the masscar again .

I loved this mascara, this is the first one I have used that didn't clump my lashes or left little black residue under my eyes after the first hour. It went on so smooth. But you are right about the volume, had really long lashes but not much volume.

I worked great as a lengthener for me, maybe too well. I thought it would be at least a LITTLE volumizing, but no. My lashes looked super long (they touched my eyelid!!) but it looked like I had maybe 6 lashes...

@ringostar132 personally I have tried several Mabelline mascaras and found they all flake and irritate my eyes. IT took me several tries to find out that it is mabelline that does this.

i love the product mine lengthen soo much but it is horribly not water proof ive had it running all down my face just from sweating they need to come out with a water proof one i would buy it in a heart beat

Yes, I agree this mascara smells like a cross between flowers & tar! There's a new waterproof version that just came out. I like that one better than the original- it holds the curl. Thanks for the review!

Thanks, as always, for your honest review. I, too, prefer a volumizing mascara and I was not impressed with Maybelline Lash Stiletto - actually, I don't like any Maybelline mascaras - esp. the very much hyped Maybelline Great Lash.

if you read the small print at the bottom of the maxfactor TV ads it says something about it being called Cover Girl in the US. hope this is slightly helpful..

Totally agree, I'd rather have volume vs. length. I threw my Maybelline Lash Stiletto in the trash as it gave me stick lashes .. lol. Plus, I just hated the brush.

I recently bought Neutrogena Weightless Volume mascara in brown/black and love it. I usually wear Clinique Gentle Waterproof Mascara, but couldn't get to the mall for more so picked up the Neutrogena to hold me over - I think I found a lovely new mascara!

Hi Lisa - I agree with your review 100%. I've been using the new volumizing L'Oreal mascara with collagen - can't tell you how much I love it. Lash Stelleto is my favorite! i have tons of mascaras an this is my favorite! It holds my curl all day .. I agree with you on the smell though right now watching this i smelled like 7 of my mascaras an yea it smells alil stronger, i never noticed it lol! =)

I completely agree....the two are similar, but CG has a better brush. I think the lash stiletto brush head is too long and was messy during application.

I'm really not picky about mascara. Even Great Lash looks nice on my lashes.

But I will warn you about one mascara I've had bad luck with- Almay Pure Blends Mascara is terrible! It flakes off.

I agree about the smell but when you do put it on,I cant smell anything at all.I do have to disagree with you thou about Covergirl verses Lash Stellito..I would much prefer the Lash Stelleto and it does give you a bit of volumn,but I personally dont like that much volumn anyway:)And it does hold my curl most of the day and I only have to use one coat of it and it doesnt flake.I HATE flakes..lol!!And I have tried the best of them out there,and I still prefer Lash Stelleto:)

It has jojoba oil in it so it almost feels like a treatment & it's so easy to take off. :-)

I have the thinnest, shortest lashes ever and I second the define a lash it is my HG even though I sometimes buy a new mascara to try cause I don't want to miss anyting lol. On the other hand I tried telescopic and it does nothing for me at all. I was totally bummed as it seems to work so well for a lot of ppl.
