  • The 'Captain' was a giant! He made the Tenille version better because

he knew how to make the 'bucks'.

  • Not his finest hour.

  • i like Neil's version better too!What a guy!

  • so brilliant :)

  • Sounds like a demo. Can anyone confirm this?

  • You know, I wasn't even aware that this song was originally performed by Neil Sedaka, until I read it on Wikipedia. After hearing the original for the first time, I have to say I prefer the Captain & Tenille's version. I guess it's because I'm more used to hearing C&T's version. Nothing against the original, though. It's nice too.

  • I absolutely love this version, it's so jazzy and of course the Captain and Tenille version has a similar arrangement. I love the Captain and Tenille version too. The fact is I love this song, it's my favourite of all time.

  • Ich like this version more than Captain and Tenilles. It seems more natural as you can see in the videos of Captain and Tenille.

  • @gaggga1990 Yeah I think I prefer this version now. It's so jaxxy.

  • we're playing this in orchestra :D

  • Neil Sedaka is timeless. Captain & Tenille are a joke outside of the cheesy 70s.

  • I agree oldi, Neil's version is best

  • The remake, is not a patch on this original, the tempo is far superior and it still sounds graet after all these years.

  • @nhodgskin I agree.

  • I definately prefer Captain and Tenilles version better. Maybe it's because I'm used to it more but C&T's seems to flow better. I just prefer C&T's arrangement.

  • This is one of those rare instances where the remake(C&T) is much better than the original. This isn't bad, ceretainly better than Nickelback's awful vesrsion.

  • @rodneyracoon

You mean Nickelback did a version of this classic? WTF?!

  • ♥

  • the backing band is 10cc

  • @zappawizard really? They're bloody good.

  • i dont know if theres another version..

i think this "original" version isnt as funny as that of c%t.

  • werent there another version in 1974 apart from neils and captains versions

  • @BROADTRAIN1979 There was one in spanish, according to wikipedia

  • ich moechte Barbara Jo Ann performance, wie damals im Kino sah..

  • Ever since i've been lucky enough to track down original versions of popular songs by their songwriters, listening to them(all those songs),is very interseting to me.However, ever since i 1st heard "Love Will Keep Us Together",it's not Neil Sedaka's version that's my favorite.Of Course,it's another certain version that is!

  • So, FINALLY,i hear the studio version by Neil Sedaka,this song's (original)writer,from "Sedaka's Back"!

  • I like the movement, the rythm, in Captain and Tenille's version better; it's more jumpy, more alive... Which seems to fit the song perfectly

  • @ChickenButt8293 i have to agree...captain and tenille basically did it with pop perfection

  • Ofcourse, originals are always better. >_O

  • this is , erm, paid tribute to in the start of the maisonettes' heartache avenue!

  • I love these old school beautiful songs!

    Man today's generation/modern music, SUCKS!

  • its catchy but i love it

  • Great song I love it a++++++

  • Not only is it a nice version but the backing band is 10CC !!

  • its nice but i like the hit version more but this is nice also

  • it's a nice song :)
