Why does every1 complain about the movie?? I've read the manga, watched the anime and both of the movies, and they're all great, really. Sure, they cut out a lot (neither Near nor Mello nor a bunch of other characters are in the movie) but it's still awesome. The actors are really good too. (and both Light and L are hot... ;) ) And Misa's not ugly, wth? She's really cute, eventhough she's not blonde. At least the movie-Misa is far less annoying than the anime-Misa.... i think why the creators of death note named L L, is because in japanese romanizations or words, they have no letter L.. instead they replace L by ru or r (correct me if i'm wrong). for example, my name is daniel.. it's romanization is danieru.

I must say, the ending was 10x better that the anime's (I won't tell it because it's a spoiler.) All three of them are on my favorite movies list. L rocked L: Change the WorLd. (As you can see, I'm team L, not team Light. :P)

@KoibumiToMashinGun About the novel. They made a novel called 'Death Note: Another Note' which has a new serial killer named Beyond Birthday (BB). This one is much smarter, and better-looking, than Light is. Of course, as it said in the anime, BB was caught by L because L is simply awesome like that. BB later died in prison due to heart attack. (Wonder what/who caused the heart attack. :P). I haven't read it yet, so I can't tell you if it'd be good or not. But, I'm pretty sure that it will be!!!

I don't know exactly how the story's going in the anime, so thanks for leaving that out, but I really didn't like the manga ending. I have no idea if its the same as the anime or similar, but I hated it as it was bad for both L and Light. And to be honest, I really like them both and enjoy their fights and discussions so much!! :D

Movies are based off of comics, books, games, and other things all the time, it doesn't make them bad. It was directed well and has good acting. The only thing that confuses me is why Red Hot Chili Peppers is like the main music during the opening and credits of the 2 movies.
